Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people opine that universities should provide subjects other than their main subjects, where as others believe it is crusial to focus on main subjects and give sufficient time. So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have supported my stand with the reasonable justifications and included my opinion at the end.

On the one hand, learning other subjects with main subjects can be beneficial for developing skills. In this modern era, competition among people in work place at a peak, so skills have a main role in viosion of job. For instance, assembling parts, give your presentation and managing a team are types of skills, which are very important and useful in difficulties also.

In addition, learning other subjects exemplify, dancing, drawing, animation, communiction and mangement can work as a back-up plan. Nowadays, there are several working professions are available but companies need talented and skillfull employees. So having a certificate of particular skill in person's file can bring lots of offers from componies and building a good profile. As a result, chances of getting jobs opportunities can be proliferating.

On the other hand, having an extra subjects in addition of main subjects can be a burdon on students. I t is not essential that every student have interest in other subjects such as automobile, Information technology and animation. So, including other subjects in regular curriculam may result as a waste of time and may students can not focus on their main subjects, it affects their result too.

In my opinion, including extra or a skill subject in addition to main subjects can be beneficial and more approprite solution to attract students towards skill sujects. SO students can become sufficiant enough to reach better job opportunities.

To conclude, adding skill subjects with main subjects can improve skills and making a strong profile in this cut throught era, whereas it can be burdon on students by not having an intrest and enough time to learn more subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and give a clear preference for including additional skill-based subjects, so the main parts of the task are present. The benefits are supported with examples such as presentation, teamwork and gaining a certificate that may improve employment prospects. However, these points are asserted more than explained: for example, the link between learning drawing or dancing and receiving more job offers needs a clearer, realistic example. The opposing view is also relevant, especially your point that extra subjects may distract students who lack interest, but it is brief and not balanced with a developed explanation of why concentrating on a qualification can be valuable. Clarify your position earlier and extend both sides with specific reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion and a conclusion. This makes the overall direction easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening promises that your opinion will come “at the end,” although your position is already suggested and then stated in a separate paragraph. Within the first supporting paragraph, the move from workplace competition to assembling parts and giving presentations is not fully explained. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make paragraph progression more deliberate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and employment, including “qualification,” “back-up plan,” “certificate,” “talented employees” and “job opportunities.” These choices show an effort to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the writing less clear, such as “viosion of job,” “componies,” “skillfull” and “cut throught era.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “chances of getting jobs opportunities” and “a certificate of particular skill in person's file.” Choose more precise collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, explain how transferable skills support employability rather than relying on broad claims about companies making offers.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including “So, including other subjects in regular curriculam may result as a waste of time…” and the contrast introduced by “whereas” in the conclusion. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “competition … at a peak,” “there are several working professions are available,” and “may students can not focus,” which show problems with sentence construction and verb patterns. Agreement and articles are also inconsistent, as in “every student have interest” and “an extra subjects.” Work on building one clear clause at a time, then practise joining clauses accurately with conjunctions. Proofread for subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation.
