Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has been observing that, learning other subjects rather then majors is becoming a trend among students, meanwhile others think that student should must be focused on their major subjects. I will explain both views with the help of vaild reasons in coming pharagraps.

To begin with, learning other subjects would be a usefull experience for students. Well, its totally depand on the student personality, it would be a gift for those who are eager to learn something new, because that thing help students a lot to gain knowledge of other fields and also make them creative, improve their learning abilities as well as, push students to think beyond their limits. For instance, according to study at UET Taxila, Pakistan, students that attend other subject lectures are actually more creative and able to solve real base problem then those who are just studying their field subjects. As far as i'm concerned, it would be usefull experience but only for those who took interest in it.

On the other hand, focusing on just majors is also important factor for the students who really want to achieve ultimate success in their relevent field. It will gave them a usefull exposure regarding field. In contrast, it will bound students to just one relevent field. For example, i'm student of civil engineering and i had also learn youtube automation and coding as additional subjects, on these bases i have made web-base softwear as a project and i won 1st prize in open house 2k26 the thing is, i'm average student of my class but additional knowledge help me to prove my self.

In my opinion, learning subjects other then major subject is excelent thing because it boost creativity, thinking, and practical knowledge as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear preference for learning beyond a major, so the response covers the main parts of the prompt. The strongest support is your personal example: learning coding alongside civil engineering helped you create software and win a prize. You also explain that additional subjects can broaden knowledge and encourage creativity. However, the case for concentrating on a qualification is less fully developed: you mention success in a relevant field and exposure, but do not explain in detail why dividing attention might hinder progress. The claim that extra learning suits only students who are interested also needs clarification. Develop the opposing view with a specific reason or example, then connect your examples more explicitly to your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the discussion, and the personal example is placed in the paragraph about focusing on a major. Some connections are less clear or mechanical, however. “In contrast” does not clearly show how being bound to one field contrasts with the preceding point about exposure, and “on these bases” makes the link between your extra learning and your project difficult to follow. The conclusion repeats your position but does not draw together the two arguments. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph’s progression explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “major subjects,” “creative,” “additional knowledge,” and “practical knowledge,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, such as “vaild,” “usefull,” “relevent,” and “softwear.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “real base problem” and “ultimate success in their relevant field.” These inaccuracies sometimes make the message less clear or precise. Build a bank of accurate academic collocations for discussing education and skills, and check spelling carefully. Aim to express ideas with precise phrases rather than repeating “useful” and “field.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “students that attend other subject lectures.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are evident. For example, “student should must be focused” combines incompatible modal forms, “that thing help students” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “It will gave them” uses an incorrect verb form. The opening also joins clauses with a comma, while “i had also learn” has an inaccurate tense and verb form. Practise modal patterns, subject–verb agreement, and past-tense forms, and proofread sentence boundaries and capitalisation.
