Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You state a clear opinion in the introduction: students should study additional subjects, and you give a relevant reason by linking broader skills to employment. However, the response only partially fulfils the task. The opposing view is introduced—students may fear that extra study will harm their results—but its explanation is cut off, and there is no developed discussion of both positions or a concluding summary. The example about employers preferring skills alongside a high GPA is relevant, but it remains general and would benefit from a specific illustration. The response is also 47 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop the arguments. Explain each view fully, support it with examples, and finish with a conclusion that reinforces your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an identifiable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting additional study, and the beginning of a paragraph explaining why some students focus only on their main subjects. Linking expressions such as “For instance” and “As a result” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because the second viewpoint is left unfinished, and the essay has no conclusion. Some connections are repetitive or abrupt, as in “The world is changing. Nowadays,” while the transition from the general claim about society to the example could be clearer. There are also spacing and punctuation problems, such as “studying. In” and “books.As.” Develop a complete paragraph for each view and use clear transitions to guide the reader through the discussion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “additional subjects,” “course books,” “skills,” “multinational organization,” and “future opportunities.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and terms such as “artificial intelligence” add specificity. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “society is getting more advance,” “get graduated,” and “give special preference to skills.” Spelling and form errors such as “oppot” and “cgpa” also reduce precision. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the argument, but it is not yet consistently controlled. Aim for natural academic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “become more advanced,” “graduate,” and “place particular value on skills.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason-result structure in “They think they will not be able to manage additional subjects… As a result…” This shows some ability to connect clauses, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “the other believe” instead of subject-verb agreement, “all the focus were” instead of “was,” and “which will further limits” instead of “will further limit.” The sentence beginning “For instance, in past…” also runs several ideas together without clear punctuation. Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and proofread each sentence for a consistent verb form. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to follow.
