Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many university students desire to study other extra subjects with their major academic subject, while others argue that it is beneficial for learners to devote their full time and concentration to study for better academic qualification. Although, students should focus on their major course, I believe that students should be encouraged to learn additional subject because it helps them to develop core knowledge about their interested subject and build career based on their interest.
On the one hand, many individuals thinks students should be fully devoted on their main academic subjects and obtain excellent academic qualification results. This is mainly because academic score plays crucial to find a job. Students with excellent academic scores has high chance to find job effortlessly because most of the corporations seek good academic result while hiring staffs. For instance, most of the renowned companies prioritize candidates with Excellent results. However, I believe that skills and experience also matter to perform good in real work places.
On the other hand, learning extra subjects in universities allows learners to develop core knowledge and skills about specific subject. For example, learners who has an innate ability of drawing can choose to learn arts related subjects in addition to their major which helps them to build skills and they can apply that in real workplace. Therefore, learning additional subject is essential for student's career development.
In conclusion, although devoting full time and attention to major subject for a qualification can be helpful to find a job quicker, I believe that learning additional subjects is more beneficial to fit in the real workplace.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: the introduction and conclusion favour learning additional subjects, while the body paragraphs explain the case for focusing on a qualification and the benefits of broader study. The examples about employers valuing academic results and a student with drawing ability are relevant. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The argument that grades help students find work is supported mainly by a general claim about companies, and the drawing example does not explain in detail how the extra subject improves career prospects. Your position is clear, but developing these examples with a specific consequence or explanation would make the response more convincing and complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion, and the ideas generally progress logically. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, connections within paragraphs are occasionally mechanical, and “However” in the first body paragraph shifts to your opinion without fully explaining how it relates to the point about employers. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and link each example explicitly to the paragraph’s main claim to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “academic qualification,” “devote,” “innate ability,” and “career development.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “study other extra subjects,” “plays crucial to find a job,” and “perform good in real work places.” “Academic score” and “excellent academic qualification results” are also repeated or imprecise. Aim for more natural combinations and greater precision, for example, “take additional courses,” “plays a crucial role in securing employment,” and “perform well in the workplace.” This would make your vocabulary more flexible and idiomatic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction and clauses introduced by “because” and “which.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “many individuals thinks” should be “many individuals think,” and “Students with excellent academic scores has” should be “have.” There are also issues with articles and sentence construction, as in “Although, students should focus” and “plays crucial.” Review subject–verb agreement, article use, and punctuation around introductory conjunctions. More consistent control of these features, alongside your existing attempts at complex sentences, would improve accuracy.
