Student answer (Band 5.5)

Whther to study a main subjet with full zeel and zest or should study other subjet as well is a debatable topic among students.i would likely to prefer one mian subject study with full attention.

The number of learners who stick to one subject with full determination are more likely to get a good job. In such a uncertain world, it will be so foolish step to neglect the career. The person who is more parctical in his filed get highr chance tobe promoted. The individual who gain better knowledge and grip to one subject is more advanced in filed realted problem solving tecniques.

The peer compitative enviorment encirage the person to pay attenttion to personal growth. As it would help him in becoming a succesfull person in life.

Those who argue to study other subjets also are far sighted. they assume to get more knowledge will help them in thieir main subject. It enables them to move freely acroos differnet cultures as they have more information excepet thier subject. Somehow distracting attention among subjects can be endager thier results in main subjects.

From my prespective, students should encourage to stick to thier career oriented subject, so it will be benificial for them in future to gain a good job. If a medical student starts to do journalism, it will distact him from his main goal. it is a goood option to an extant to explore other subjets as it help to foster life skills but it pose a danger to career oriented pupils

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both perspectives and state a clear preference for concentrating on one main subject, especially in the opening and final paragraphs. Relevant points include the potential for stronger career prospects and the possibility that studying other subjects broadens cultural understanding and supports life skills. However, these ideas are not developed equally: the benefits of studying additional subjects are mentioned briefly, while the medical student and journalism example mainly illustrates the risk of distraction. Explain more fully how broader study could benefit students, and support your claims with a specific example. Your position is clear, but the discussion would be more balanced and persuasive with fuller explanation of both views.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, discussion of focusing on one subject, consideration of other subjects, and a concluding opinion. This gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are presented as separate assertions rather than linked reasoning. For example, the point about a “peer competitive environment” is not clearly connected to the preceding claim about employment. Linking expressions such as “In contrast” and “For example” could clarify relationships, while clearer references would help readers follow who “they” and “him” refer to. Develop each paragraph around one central point and connect its explanation and example more explicitly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to education and careers, including “qualification,” “determination,” “career-oriented,” and “life skills.” These choices show some range, but control is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations, such as “full zeel and zest,” “peer compitative enviorment,” and “move freely acroos differnet cultures.” Some errors make the intended meaning harder to follow, particularly “practical in his field” and “advanced in field related problem solving techniques.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than ornate phrasing, and proofread spelling carefully. For instance, “focus fully on their main subject” is clearer than “study a main subject with full zeal and zest.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including a conditional example beginning “If a medical student starts to do journalism.” However, attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “The number of learners … are” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Those who argue to study other subjects also are far sighted” is awkwardly constructed. The opening also joins sentences with an incorrect capitalisation and punctuation pattern. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb. More reliable control of these basic patterns would make your ideas easier to understand.
