Student answer (Band 5.0)
Moderen day university education is becoming more and more convineint throughout the last decades. With the developing progress in education many people argue that university students should spend all their time on their chosen subjects while others beleive that they should also consider other subjects as well.In my opinion students should alloe to explore many options as they can to recognise their personal talents and interests.
On one hand there are people who strongly beilive that universty students should focus only on their perticular subjects.Focusing more and more on their relevent subjects can make them more confident. Moreover, they can become expert in their respective feilds.
On the other hand there are people who strongly beleive that students should be allowed to explore other subjects as well.By doing so students can explore varoius different aspects of their personality. In my opinion if a student wants to learn other subjects apart from their main subject they can aquire more knowledge. For example,If a person is interested in biology he\she can become a qualified doctor in upcomming years.By doing so he\she can acheive the desired outcome but can never fully recognise own talents and intersts.
In conclusion, students should be allowed to learn about other subjects in addition to their main subjects.By doing so,students can fully explore their interest allowing them to be more creative.Learning new subjects can also increase persons's general knowledge. It can help us in building new skills which can come handy in our daily life activitites.Students can also feel encoureged when they are allowed to use their free will.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and state a clear preference for exploring additional subjects, so the response is relevant to the prompt. However, the two positions are only briefly explained: the claim that focusing on a main subject builds confidence and expertise is not supported with a specific example, and the benefits of studying other subjects remain general. The biology example is confusing because it describes becoming a doctor through biology, rather than showing how studying a subject beyond one’s main field helps. The conclusion adds benefits but does not develop the argument further. The response is 244 words, six words below the 250-word minimum; this limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each view with a clear reason and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are listed rather than connected through explanation. The example beginning “For example” does not clearly support the point about exploring other subjects, which weakens the link between sentences. The conclusion also introduces several benefits in quick succession without showing how they relate. Improve cohesion by organising each body paragraph around one main claim, then explaining and illustrating it, and use clear references when moving between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to education and personal development, including “qualification,” “respective fields,” “talents and interests,” and “general knowledge.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors are noticeable, including “Moderen,” “convineint,” “beleive,” and “intersts.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “developing progress in education,” “explore various different aspects,” and “use their free will.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more accurate set of topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe students as broadening their knowledge or developing transferable skills.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “if,” and “when.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors are frequent and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “students should alloe to explore” is missing a passive verb form, while “they can aquire more knowledge” needs a clearer grammatical connection to the preceding condition. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “increase persons's general knowledge” and the run-together sentence openings after full stops. Practise accurate sentence boundaries and basic clause patterns first, then check verb forms, articles, and possessives. This will make your ideas easier to read.
