Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many students want to learn about other relevant subjects rather than their main subjects, while others argue that it is necessary to give all the time to their main subjects and just try to focus only on qualification, I believe that studying other subjects with their main courses also provide significant benefits.
On the one hand, some students ready to get extra knowledge by studying extra subjects with their main subjects because it can provides us the knowledge about the other things as well which will be helpful for us in the future to find interest in other parts of the field. For example, if we just focus on the main subjects than we become limited to the same field but studying other subjects we can explore the other fields as well. Moreover, it also beneficial for us to grip the other fields of knowledge by studying theri basics.
On the other hand, many students believe that it is important to give all the time to their main subjects and only want to focus on qualification because they thought that by doing this they can prevent from distraction to become expertise on their main courses and also believe that it just the waste of time to studying others subjects. For instance, if we also study other subjects than we do not give us proper time to their main subjects. Additionally, we must choose one specific field carefully and just try to maintain our focus only to get qualification.
From my point of view, we must try to learn other subjects as well with their main subjects to get knowledge from different field of life because it becomes essential in todays world to survive in life. For example, as we know that how much Ai involved in our life currently and if developer do not have knowledge about how we can generate code by Ai and making apps fastly then they cannot survived in this life.
Hence, we know that by studing other subjects required extra time and it also can distarct from your main courses but still we manage to get extra information about other subjects as well to make life better and easier.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your own position clearly: you support learning additional subjects alongside a main course. The response gives relevant reasons, including broader knowledge and the risk that other subjects may distract from qualification-focused study. The example about developers needing to understand AI also helps illustrate your opinion. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that studying other subjects helps students “find interest in other parts of the field” is unclear, and the AI example could explain more specifically how knowledge beyond a degree subject benefits a developer. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a more concrete example to make the discussion more balanced and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a concluding sentence. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “From my point of view” make the direction of the discussion easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical, and the final paragraph largely repeats the earlier point that extra subjects provide useful knowledge. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as in “they do not give us proper time to their main subjects,” where the relationship between “they,” “us,” and “their” is difficult to track. Use clearer pronouns and make the conclusion synthesise the two views rather than restating them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “qualification,” “distraction,” “expertise,” and “knowledge.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “specific field” and “generate code.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which makes some ideas less clear. Phrases such as “grip the other fields of knowledge,” “prevent from distraction,” and “survive in life” do not sound natural in this context. Spelling and word-form errors, including “theri,” “studing,” and “distarct,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of academic collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “while,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “it can provides” should use the base verb after “can,” while “it also beneficial” is missing a form of “be.” The opening sentence is a run-on, joining contrasting ideas and your opinion without clear sentence boundaries. There are also awkward conditional constructions, such as “if we also study other subjects than we do not give us proper time.” Practise accurate clause structure and subject–verb agreement, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
