Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some varsity students intend to learn other subjects along with their main subjects whereas some believe that learning for a degree with their all time and determination is more significant. I believe that both two views are crucial for students who are now in learning phase because it helps them to boarden their perspective and obtain a moderate result.

On the one hand, students who want to learn other subjects alongside main subjects, is very important due to their curiosity for knowledge. While they studying for other subjects, it helps them to expand their knowledge beyond their boarders as well as assists them to do well in their main subjects, For instance, when students have a lots of viewpoint for one thing it helps them to reqauire more marks rather than other students.

On the other hand, who believe that studying for a degree with all of their time and attention is much more important than oher things , has several reasons. Firstly, if students can achieve a degree with determination it helps them to get a better job oppotunities. Additionally, it increases their social status . Secondly, people who have a degree can apply for their higher education as it helps them to enhance their curriculum vitae. For example, nowadays, people who go to abroad for higher studies with a degree can achieve other degrees easily because they know how to complete the session with full determination. In my perspective, both are essential for students who want to gain qualification and better carrer options.

In conclusion, students who want to learn other subjects with main subjects and who want to complete their study with degree both are impotant because one gives boarden knowledge and another helps to require better job.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a personal position, particularly in the opening and the sentence beginning “In my perspective.” The discussion of focused study includes relevant outcomes such as employment, social status, and further education. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the benefits of studying additional subjects are asserted rather than clearly explained, and the example about having “a lots of viewpoint” and gaining more marks is difficult to follow. Your opinion that both approaches are essential is stated, but the essay does not explain how students might balance them or why one should be prioritised in particular circumstances. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the connection between learning additional subjects and “reqauire more marks” is not explained, while the second body paragraph moves from employment to social status and then higher education without showing how these points relate. The conclusion repeats the two positions but does not bring the reasoning together. Use clearer topic sentences and explain each point before moving to the next; also make references such as “one” and “another” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to education and future prospects, including “qualification,” “determination,” “higher education,” and “curriculum vitae.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the message difficult to interpret. Examples include “boarden their perspective,” “beyond their boarders,” “better job oppotunities,” and “better carrer options.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “learning for a degree with their all time” and “complete the session with full determination.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than using ambitious wording without checking its form. Replacing repeated general terms such as “important” and “helps” with precise language would also make the discussion clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if,” and “as.” However, the range is limited, and complex structures are often faulty; errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “students … is very important” has an agreement problem, and “While they studying” is missing a verb form. The construction “who believe … has several reasons” also has an unclear subject and agreement, while “with their all time” shows difficulty with grammatical word order. Punctuation is inconsistent, including a comma splice-like break before “For instance” and spaces before punctuation. Practise building accurate clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
