Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few university students want to learn about other subjects in addition to their prior subjects. While others believe it is more important to give all their time and attention to studying for a qualification. In my point of view student should give importance to main subject and focus on a graduation.

On the one hand, university students want to learn other subject instead of their main subjects. main reason for that is their main subject are too complicated and

consume more time. Students who are creative mindsets are want to learn art, drama and other sport classes they cannot spent time on their other acitivity. Students learn additional subjects develop new skills and develop talent, they can make their future in interest feild. For example student who learn art subject can become the future atist. As result university should provide other subjects for student who are creative.

On the other hand, students give their important time to studying for qualification

because they can get a job from their qualification degree. if they have a good score in their main subjects and potential cgpa in their graduation they boost their chance for job. In the future they work on their main subject related jobs so they have a good knowledge of their important subject,so they will not face problems. For example, student who study well in their college they an efficiently work in their job.

In conclusion, students wants learn new subject insted of main subject because of the additional subject make students a creative and feel comfortable. However, student focus in their qualification can create a new job opportunity and develop their future without challenges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You discuss both views and state a preference for focusing on the main subject, so the response is relevant to the question. However, your position is not fully consistent: the opening supports prioritising the main subject, while the conclusion gives substantial emphasis to the benefits of additional subjects without clearly reaffirming your opinion. The points are also brief and under-developed. For instance, you say that studying another subject can help a student become an artist, but do not explain how this applies to university study or support it with a specific example. The response contains 245 words, so it is five words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your reasoning. Make your opinion clear throughout and explain each main point more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers identify the contrast. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and ideas are often listed rather than connected through explanation. In the first body paragraph, the move from complicated main subjects to creative students and then to becoming an artist needs clearer links. Some transitions are also awkward or repetitive, such as “As result” and the repeated use of “students.” Improve the logical sequence by giving each paragraph a clear central claim, then explaining and illustrating it, and use referencing and linking phrases accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “qualification,” “additional subjects,” “creative,” and “job opportunity.” There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as developing skills and improving employment prospects. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the writing less precise: “prior subjects” does not clearly mean a student’s main subject, “potential cgpa” is unclear, and “future atist” contains a spelling error. Some phrases are repeated, particularly “main subject” and “students.” Build a more accurate range of academic expressions and check spelling; for example, use “degree programme,” “career prospects,” and “develop their abilities” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if they have a good score … they boost their chance for job.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “Students who are creative mindsets are want to learn” has faulty structure, while “student should give importance” and “students wants learn” show agreement and verb-form problems. The opening also begins with a fragment: “While others believe…” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to understand.
