Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argueed that few individuals believe that under graduate civilians want to study other courses as contrast to their major subjects. Moreover, some population think that they need to give full concentration to their field for higher qualification.I am strongly assert with the people who support that reading addtional subjects help to enhance our ecucational skills.

To initiate this discussion, learning extra courses during the graduation period helps students to expand their knowledge in numerous occupations. Education play a vital role in the development of a student and studing additional subjects along with their field will boost their educational skills. Universities also know the importance of it. Consequently, they are designing their course outline in such way that students who want to complete their degree. They must first learn additional credit hours. For instance, I just graduate from Bahria University in IT but also learn some subjects like marketing, cautions related to human health and physchology.

On the flip side of a coin, there is a school of thoughts that students should try to focus on their main courses.Furthermore, they belive that focusing on the other subjects may divert their mind and consequences are the waste of their time.Reading multiple subjects at one time may effect the grade of the student through they may suffer from mentally stress. For example, when i was in 3rd semester one of my firend suffer from the mentally illness because he was not good in the bio subjects which are compulsory to passed according to our university course design.

From my perspective, students should learn addtional courses because you will get knowlege of various sectors of life. Also practical field is designed in such way that you will need to intercommunicate with other occupations.

To put it in a nutshell, I pen down saying that individual should try to keep focus on their major outline also they need to learn additional courses because keeping both things togather will assist them to become a successful person in their own occupation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion in favour of studying additional subjects, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant support includes your experience studying marketing and health-related subjects alongside IT, and the example of a friend who struggled with compulsory biology. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the benefits of broader learning are explained in general terms, while the opposing view is mainly presented as a risk of distraction and stress. The examples would be more persuasive if you explained their consequences and linked them directly to students’ qualifications or future work. To strengthen the response, develop the reasoning behind each view and make your final position more precise about how students should balance breadth with their main subject.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To initiate this discussion,” “On the flip side,” and “From my perspective” help readers follow the direction of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and connections between ideas are occasionally unclear. For example, the sentence about universities designing course outlines is followed by “They must first learn additional credit hours,” which does not clearly explain the relationship. The opinion paragraph also repeats the benefit of learning about other sectors without connecting it fully to the earlier examples. Use clearer references and transitions, and organise each body paragraph around a main claim followed by explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to an academic discussion, including “expand their knowledge,” “divert their mind,” and “intercommunicate with other occupations.” However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “subjects,” “students,” and “learn,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less natural. For instance, “under graduate civilians” is not an appropriate way to refer to university students, and “a school of thoughts” is an incorrect expression. Spelling errors such as “argueed,” “addtional,” and “ecucational” are also noticeable. Build a more reliable range of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; precise phrases such as “broaden their academic knowledge” and “focus on their degree requirements” would communicate your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “although” and clauses beginning with “because.” Some sentences communicate the main point clearly, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction recur. For example, “Education play” needs subject–verb agreement, while “students who want to complete their degree. They must” incorrectly separates a dependent clause from its main clause. In “one of my friend suffer,” the plural form and past-tense verb are needed. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise checking each sentence for a complete main clause, consistent tense, and agreement, while continuing to use complex structures in shorter, more controlled forms.
