Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, many universities are offering other subjects those had not related to main subjects. A small number of university students want to learn about other subjects in addition to their main subjects. Others argue it is more vital to give all their time and focus to studying for a qualification. I shall discuss both views.
On the one hand, other subjects are very important for us because they can grow our knowledge. For instance, some people have konwledge limited about science and histroy. They study in intermediate after complete their intermediate. In addition, they can get addmission in university and keep those subject which can grow their knowledge.
On other hand, Some students cannot keep those subject in university as they can weak in their studies. For example, A student who has passed the intermediate with 55% marks and after the intermediate when he get addmission in university. He has a lot of subects those related to his study. Moreover, If would keep those subject which can grow his awareness about histroy. He can fail in exams.
From my perspective, we should only read those subject which are relevant to qualification because those subject can be burdon on students. Furthermore, We can study those after the graduation or in free time.
To sum up, Some university can study other subjects However. other subjects also very difficult. Some student can not handle other subject during the university. If pupils are able to learn other subjects during the university, they can choose. Other subjects can grow knowledge about different things such as science and histroy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both views and state a clear preference for focusing on subjects relevant to a qualification, so the response addresses the main parts of the question. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the first view is supported mainly by the general claim that other subjects “can grow our knowledge,” while the opposing view relies on one hypothetical student who might fail. The conclusion also shifts to saying students may choose other subjects if able, which makes your position less consistent. The response is 248 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; the 15 words copied from the prompt are excluded. Develop each view with a specific, explained example and make your final position consistent with the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On other hand,” and “From my perspective” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are repeated rather than developed. For example, the conclusion repeats that other subjects can increase knowledge and may be difficult, without clearly resolving the discussion. Some links are also awkward or incomplete, such as “They study in intermediate after complete their intermediate.” Use clearer sentence-to-sentence connections, ensure each paragraph develops one main point, and make the conclusion summarise your position rather than introduce a qualification.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “qualification,” “relevant,” “awareness,” and “graduation,” which allows you to communicate the general subject. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “grow our knowledge” is repeated, while “keep those subject” and “a lot of subjects those related to his study” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “konwledge,” “histroy,” “addmission,” “subects,” and “burdon” also weaken clarity. Build a more accurate range for discussing breadth of study and academic workload, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional idea in “If … keep those subject … He can fail in exams,” and you use basic linking clauses to compare the views. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to understand. Examples include “Some university can study other subjects,” “A student who has passed … and after the intermediate when he get admission,” and “If would keep those subject.” Several sentences are fragments or have unclear clause relationships. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
