Student answer (Band 5.0)
Presently, some university students interest in other subjects in addition to their main subjects. Some people thinks that it is more crucial to give all their time and focus to studying for a degree. In this essay, i will discuss both views and share my opinion.
On one hand, some academic students want to learn irrelevent subjects. By this i mean, some time students are bored due to read same subjects whole year. For example, a chemistry student is got knowledge of chemistry book whole year but in the end the student is bored. So, for relaxation of mind the student is interest in literature and it is not a bad thing. Therefore, this type students are get high marks in final exam. These students are role model especially for demotivated students.
On the other hand, few people believe that students are give all their time and focus on their study and degree. For this reson, relevant subjects are necessary because other subjects will not effective in future. For instance, students waste their time on others subjects and it is not a good strategey for time management. Therefore, other subjects are create detrimental issues for qualification. In the end, this type of students are got lower division in final exam.
All things considered, if students are take interest in another favourite subject, so i think this type of students get high CPG in final exam and first division give good impact on CV. As a result, my opinion is clear i agree with this type of students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state a preference for students exploring another subject, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is only partial: the first view is supported mainly by the claim that studying literature can relieve boredom, while the opposing view is reduced to the idea that other subjects waste time. These points need clearer explanation and more convincing examples. Your final paragraph also introduces “high CPG” and “first division” without explaining how these outcomes follow from studying an additional subject. The position is present, but its reasoning is not consistently clear or developed. The response is one word below the required 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “All things considered” help readers identify the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several claims are placed next to one another without clear links. For example, the first body paragraph moves from boredom to relaxation, then to high marks and role models, without explaining the connections. The conclusion also repeats the preference rather than drawing the discussion together. Develop each paragraph around one main point and use clearer references and cause-and-effect links to make the reasoning flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to university study, including “qualification,” “time management,” “detrimental,” and “demotivated.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the topic. However, word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Examples include “irrelevent subjects,” “for relaxation of mind,” “not effective in future,” and “high CPG”; the last expression is unclear in this context. There is also repetition of “subjects,” “students,” and “final exam.” Aim to use more precise academic phrases and check spelling, while avoiding expressions whose meaning may not be familiar to the reader. More accurate collocations would make your ideas easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a few longer sentences, including “For example, a chemistry student is got knowledge of chemistry book whole year but in the end the student is bored,” and use basic linking clauses such as “because” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “some university students interest,” “some people thinks,” “students are give,” and “this type of students are got.” These errors can make the reader pause to work out the intended meaning. Practise forming accurate present-simple statements and use “want to,” “are interested in,” or “spend time studying” rather than combining auxiliary verbs incorrectly. Build longer sentences only after their basic grammar is secure.
