Student answer (Band 6.0)
These days majority of university students paying more interest towards to learn extra subjects as additionally to their regular academics subject. However ,others think to invest time and attention on the regular studying qualification .Both views are discussed below along with my own opinion at the end.
There are many factors which contribute that why some university scholars want to learn about other subjects to their main subjects. One of the most contributing factor is enhance skill level through learning additional subjects. As they consider extra subjects increase the level of their qualification along with their academics .Consequently,it not only increase their skills but also would be benificial for their future.A recent surevy conducted in india which shows that majority of students who are studying in univeristy prefer to join extra circullar subjects courses through online.
However, others contradict it by saying ,to pay attention to studying for a qualification. The predominant reason behind this is that they want to be learn and being master in their academics .As they think it is good to put whole energy and effort on their academics rather than additional subjects which also helpful to make their concentration on one thing. so they feel more focused and clear about their future goal.Another reason is that it hold the experience in one field .As they spent more time on their academics which makes them expert in their field .Thus ,it not only helpful to feel concentrated and focused but also as well as provide the experience in one stream.
In conclusion, I personally beleive that both hold equal importance.Learning addityional subjects makes people skilled in their future ,while paying attention towards study can provide experience and clear path to them in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and gives a personal position: the first body paragraph explains why students may take additional subjects, the second presents the case for concentrating on a qualification, and the conclusion says both are important. These points are relevant, and the example of students joining online courses gives some support. However, the discussion is unevenly developed. The benefits of extra study are mostly asserted—for example, that it improves skills and future prospects—without explaining how this happens or giving a specific illustration. The argument for focusing on one field is somewhat clearer, but its benefits also remain general. To strengthen the response, explain each main reason in more depth and make the final opinion more precise about when one approach may be preferable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and transitions such as “However” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. The response also shows some progression within paragraphs, moving from a reason to its claimed result. However, links are sometimes mechanical or unclear. Repeated use of “As they think” and “Thus” makes the reasoning feel formulaic, while the reference in “it hold the experience in one field” is difficult to interpret. Some sentences also run together without consistent spacing or punctuation, which weakens the flow. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a deliberate sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses vocabulary relevant to education, including “qualification,” “academics,” “concentration,” “focused,” and “experience.” It also attempts more formal expressions such as “predominant reason” and “contribute,” showing some range. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or awkward, as in “paying more interest towards to learn,” “regular academics subject,” and “hold the experience in one field.” Spelling errors such as “benificial,” “surevy,” “univeristy,” and “beleive” are noticeable and reduce the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate phrasing; for example, use “take additional courses” and “gain expertise in one field.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would also improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay attempts both simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures with “Consequently” and clauses beginning with “which.” This shows an effort to vary sentence patterns. However, control is inconsistent, and some errors make sentences difficult to process. For example, “These days majority of university students paying” lacks an article and a finite verb, while “it not only increase their skills” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The construction “they want to be learn and being master” also combines verb forms incorrectly. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries need particular attention. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses; check that every sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
