Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, in competative world many university students want to attend other subjects with major subjects, while other students are intrested to give all time and attention to studying for a qualification. In my opinion, students should give priority to their main subjects but also learn other useful skills.

On the one hand, main advantage of learning more subjects is students can get better future in competitive world. Many companies are hire only multi talanted employees beacuse of introduction of artificial intelligence. For instance, technology-driven world introduced many advanced technology day by day. If any peson have knowledge of multiple fields that can be sustained in competitive time. So, learning of other subjects can improve the knowlege that ultimately useful to secure the job.

On the other hand, studying for a qualification many students prefer beacuse university qualifications require a lots of time and efforts. If students spend to much time for learing other subjects that not link with major subjects than might be fail or not qualify the main subjects. For instance, medical and pharmacy realted students required lot of time for the practical sessions and assignments. They have no time for non medical subjects if still they spend time for other subject they might be unable to acheive medical degree. Therefor, spending all of the time and concentration for main subjects can help them better academic results and become expert in their field.

In conclusion, although learning additional subjects can improve student's knowlege and skills, I believe that their main priority should be their university qualifications. However, they can study other subjects in their free time without affecting their acedemic performance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear position: students should prioritise their main subjects while learning useful skills where possible. The two body paragraphs present relevant reasons, including employability and the demands of medical or pharmacy studies, and the examples help explain your points. However, the discussion is unevenly developed: the benefits of studying additional subjects are explained in general terms, while the qualification-focused view has a more specific example. The claim that companies hire “multi talanted employees” because of AI would be stronger with a clearer explanation or a concrete example. To develop the response further, explain how students can balance extra learning with their degree and support each side with similarly precise evidence. The response meets the stated length requirement; eight words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, the ideas generally move from a claim to an explanation and example. Some links are less smooth or precise, however. For example, “If any peson have knowledge of multiple fields that can be sustained in competitive time” is difficult to connect clearly to the preceding point, and “So” makes the reasoning feel somewhat mechanical. Use clearer reference and transitions between cause and result, and make sure each example explicitly supports the paragraph’s main claim. This would make the organisation more fluent and cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “qualification,” “artificial intelligence,” “practical sessions,” and “academic performance,” and your meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “technology-driven world” and “competitive world.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “competative,” “intrested,” “beacuse,” and “knowlege,” and some word combinations or choices are unnatural: “get better future,” “secure the job,” and “sustained in competitive time.” These issues limit precision and sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main ideas remain clear. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases—for example, “improve employment prospects” or “remain competitive”—rather than translating expressions word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using contrast and conditional structures, as in “although learning additional subjects can improve…” and “If students spend too much time…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “Many companies are hire” and “If any person have,” missing or incorrect articles and plurals in “a lots of time,” and faulty sentence construction in “If students spend… that not link with major subjects than might be fail.” The final sentence of the second body paragraph also needs a clearer structure to connect the condition and result. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and complete conditional clauses, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb. More reliable control of these patterns would strengthen your range.
