Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different views, a number of higher students want to study about others subject. Other people believe that the most important to give all their time in academic study. In muy opinion, I largely believe that other subject can help learners to deveop knowledge and higher students can develop new skills.
There are a number of reasons why learners want to learn others subject. One possible reason is that other subject can help to build up new skills. Moreover, new skills can help students to get job opportunities in the future. Another reason is that, others subject may help to develop their knowledge. In fact, higher students can learn different topic from others books. As a result, students get information from other books and that can boost their knowledge. For example, an higher student can learn history about the old story and that can help them to learn anceint culture.
Despite the arguements there are more important thing is that students should only study on their academic books such as english, match, physics. This is mainly because, students should spend their on their main subject cause academic subject is to hard. If any student study hard they may get better result and in the early age they get numerous oppotunities. Furthermore, when higher students study hard and spend too much time on their study they may able to create new innovation. For instance, a recent survey showed many of the university students only focus on their main subject rather than others book. Therefore, students get more time for their study and that can help them to do better.
In conclusion, although academic sunjects are extremly hard and it is more valuable; however, I believe that others subjects can help students to develop new skills also gain their knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your preference: the introduction says that learning other subjects can build knowledge and skills, while the third paragraph explains why students may focus on their qualification. This gives the response a relevant overall position. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The benefits of additional subjects are supported with general claims about jobs and knowledge, and the history example is not clearly connected to a practical benefit. The case for concentrating on a main subject is also asserted rather than fully explained; for example, the claim that this can lead to “new innovation” needs a clearer link or a specific illustration. Develop each main reason with explanation and a relevant example, and make your opinion more consistent and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “As a result,” and “For instance” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with several points added through “Another reason” and “Furthermore” rather than developed in a clear sequence. Some connections are also unclear: the history example does not fully show how learning another subject builds useful skills, and “Despite the arguments” does not clearly introduce the opposing view. The conclusion repeats the preference but uses “although” and “however” together, making the relationship between the ideas awkward. Use clearer topic sentences and ensure each example directly supports the point before moving on.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “job opportunities,” “academic subject,” “develop their knowledge,” and “qualification.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “other subject,” “students,” and “study.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “deveop,” “arguements,” “anceint,” and “oppotunities,” which can distract the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, including “higher students” and “learn history about the old story.” Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling carefully. Vary repeated terms with suitable alternatives, while making sure the replacement fits the meaning and context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “although.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur often enough to make parts of the response awkward or unclear. For example, “the most important to give all their time” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “If any student study hard” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and plurals are also unreliable in phrases such as “an higher student” and “other subject can help.” The final sentence combines “although” with “however” in a way that disrupts the sentence structure. Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially agreement, articles, and clause connections, before adding more complex forms.
