Student answer (Band 6.0)
Whether to self-employed or do a job is a widely debated issue nowadys. Setting up one's own business or organization has many benefits but it is not without setbacks. I think that both approaches have their own pros and cons. Seletion of option depends upon individual's circumstances.
On the one hand, advocates of self-employement believe that starting a company or business is more beneficial because it provides the freedom to work independently without any boss. Moreover, it provides greater satisfaction of working as all and all and can generate more income compared to a fix salary in a job. Furthermore, there are more chances of professional development and progress in self-employment due to opportunity to extend business beyond a certain locality. Consequently resulting in more financial benefits. For example, doctors with their own clinic or hospitals are earning more than those working in hopitals.
On the other hand, proponents of a fixed job argue that employement for a company provides more peace of mind due to better work-life balance. In addition, individuals working in an organisation can enjoy vaccations free of mind which is difficult for people with slef-employment. Likewise, many people think that personal set-up of work needs a lot of commitment at the expense of personal life and health.
In conclusion, I think selection of a particular approach depends upon person's personal circumstances. Personal employement has many benfits but it need a lot of skills and dedication. I myself prefer to work for an organization as I think I could not manage self-employement which might disturb my personal life .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and maintain a clear overall view that self-employment offers benefits but depends on personal circumstances. The reasons for choosing it include independence, satisfaction, higher potential income and business growth, with the clinic example helping to illustrate the income point. You also identify disadvantages of employment in terms of work-life balance, holidays, commitment and health. However, the disadvantages are mostly described in general terms, and the response does not explain key risks such as irregular income, start-up costs or responsibility for business failure. Some points, including “greater satisfaction” and professional development, would benefit from clearer explanation or a specific example. Develop both sides more evenly and make the disadvantages directly about self-employment to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. The progression from reasons for self-employment to the drawbacks of working independently is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help orient the reader. This coherent arrangement is a strength. To move further, make the relationship between ideas more precise: “Furthermore” introduces professional development, but “Consequently resulting in more financial benefits” is an awkward and incomplete link. The second body paragraph also shifts to the advantages of company employment rather than explicitly framing these as disadvantages of self-employment. Use clearer referencing and connect each supporting detail directly to the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “independently,” “professional development,” “work-life balance,” “commitment,” and “dedication.” These choices allow you to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, for example “nowadys,” “Seletion,” “self-employement,” “employement,” and “benfits.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “working as all and all,” “a fix salary,” and “vacations free of mind” make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “income stability,” “financial risk,” and “flexible working arrangements” would help express the relevant ideas clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as,” and “which.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, and the response includes some controlled sentence patterns. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and accuracy. The opening “Whether to self-employed or do a job” needs a parallel structure, such as “Whether to be self-employed or work for a company.” In “Consequently resulting in more financial benefits,” the participle phrase is not attached to a complete clause. There are also issues with articles and possessives in “depends upon individual's circumstances” and “depends upon person's personal circumstances,” and the final sentence has awkward clause construction. Practise complete sentence structures, parallel phrasing, and accurate use of articles and possessives.
