Student answer (Band 6.0)

In modern era, numerous community members want to be self-employed as compared to the work for a company or an organisation. However , I strongly believe that self-employed is far beneficial than company job.

In general context, when started job in a company no doubt they provided many benefits e.g medical, transportation, giving flat and beneficial for other things.

When we do the overtime they provide a money except for the salary which are fixed. Furthermore, they also handle the the ticked and visas expenses if we want to move other side of the country.

On the other side, their main drawback is they contract the person's almost 5 years to 10 years in this tenure the individual not doing any kind of other jobs which are not essential. Likewise many organization pay very lower amount of salary packages and did not want to do overtime. In a lighter note the person doing job comes from very lower class family.

On the other side if we saw the people who are doing self made jobs their 1st advantage is gain different experience. They upnothch their level for doing specific things and when they doing job in different sector enhance their abilities. Nevertheless they also have some disadvantage the main in now a days many persons Didi not find their suitable jobs even though self made jobs are not good because if they do not have any experience in specific field they did not do anything. They just opened their business

In conclusion both jobs have pros and cons

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is inconsistent. While you identify reasons for self-employment and some disadvantages, the arguments are often under-developed or unclear. For instance, the explanation regarding 'self-made jobs' and the disadvantages of not having experience is fragmented and lacks logical depth. The position is stated in the introduction, but the supporting points are not fully extended or supported with clear examples. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea that directly answers the prompt's questions, rather than listing loosely connected points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and disjointed sentences. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The referencing is sometimes confusing, such as in the second paragraph where the shift between company benefits and drawbacks is abrupt. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one to create a cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'upnothch their level' and 'self-made jobs'. Some terms are used incorrectly, such as 'ticked' (likely meaning tickets) and 'community members' instead of 'individuals' or 'people'. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to employment and business, and try to use more precise terminology to convey your meaning more effectively. Expanding your vocabulary will help you communicate your points with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the individual not doing'), tense consistency ('when started job'), and article usage ('the the ticked'). Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'In a lighter note the person doing job comes from very lower class family.' To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading for these common errors will significantly improve the readability of your writing.
