Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for self-employment and the potential disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The reasons provided in the introduction (financial freedom, bank loans) are mentioned but not fully expanded upon in the body paragraphs. The disadvantages are better supported with personal examples, such as the friend's health issues. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that each point raised is supported by a clear, logical explanation rather than just listing factors. The conclusion is a bit brief and could better synthesize the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a logical progression from the reasons for self-employment to the drawbacks. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'In detail' to start the second paragraph or 'that ended up into the lost whole industry'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'workhorse industries' (likely meant 'start-up' or 'small business') and 'own adventure' (which is not a standard collocation for starting a business). Spelling errors like 'finacially', 'stressfull', 'consistance', and 'gaurantee' are noticeable. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision and the recurring spelling mistakes limit the score. Focusing on learning standard business collocations would be very beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'due to financial freedom... made it common to people follow dream' (incorrect sentence structure) and 'He was so busy to run the company' (should be 'too busy to run'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, such as 'There is many drawbacks'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage.
