Student answer (Band 5.0)

We explain the disadvantage of self-employed based on our knowledge or experience that why people choose our own business rather to do job.

Overall, in these days many peoples want to do their own work. Because there are many reasons to choose this. These peoples think that they have a job person they could not be fulfil their dreams. Because the selective amount of salary not be enough for this so they choose their own business or be self-employed rather to be a job person. Therefore the peoples who are self-employed they achieve many goals in his life like having a beautiful house and a car or having a lot of money. So, they fulfil their family needs.

On the other side there are some disadvantage of being a self-employed. That i can explain based on my opinion. If the person choose self-employed they met many profits or loses in his life. With the advantages there are many disadvantages for a business person. For Example, if the business not be runs properly and products of these company not be sells they have a large loss or if they met a natural incident like fires in his company so they have loss every thing in his life.

Therefore, if they are a job person they know the company or organisation gives the selective amount of his salary on the end of the month so they fulfil their basic needs an be happy with their family. So, On my opinion i prefers the job when they have no money for stating their business or bring loses of the business.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for choosing self-employment and the disadvantages involved. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation for choosing self-employment focuses almost exclusively on 'money' and 'dreams' without exploring other factors like autonomy or work-life balance. Similarly, the disadvantages are restricted to financial loss and natural disasters, which lacks depth. The position is clear, but the overall argument is underdeveloped, and the introduction is somewhat confusing in its phrasing. To improve, you should expand your points with more specific examples and nuanced reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the other side' and 'Therefore' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. For example, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. Referencing is also inconsistent, with pronouns like 'they' and 'his' sometimes lacking clear antecedents, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. You frequently use words like 'job person', 'business', and 'money' without demonstrating a wider range of academic or topic-specific terminology. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'met many profits or loses' instead of 'experience profits or losses' and 'natural incident' instead of 'natural disaster'. These errors, combined with the limited range, mean that the vocabulary is only minimally adequate for the task. You should focus on learning collocations related to business and employment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('products... not be sells'), tense usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Because the selective amount of salary not be enough for this so they choose their own business'. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. Complex structures are attempted but are almost always faulty. Significant improvement in basic sentence construction and verb forms is required to reach a higher band.
