Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for self-employment and the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as 'becoming rich' and 'fear of job security,' are stated but not fully explored or supported with specific examples. The discussion on disadvantages is also brief and lacks depth, focusing primarily on the risk of bankruptcy. The position is generally clear, but the lack of detailed explanation and the repetitive nature of the arguments prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points by providing concrete examples or logical consequences for each argument presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'At the outset' and 'On the other hand it have disadvantage also'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the conclusion, where the transition between the summary and the advice is abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is hindered by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother narrative flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'most of individuals' instead of 'most individuals', 'open new business' instead of 'starting a new business', and 'get loss' instead of 'incur losses'. Spelling errors like 'millioner' and 'bankcrupt' also detract from the overall quality. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the basic meaning, it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You should focus on learning collocations and using more academic synonyms for common words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it have negative aspects'), incorrect verb forms ('want to being', 'all people mindset is become'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper structure. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors causes some difficulty for the reader and limits the range of structures used. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and the correct use of infinitives and gerunds.
