Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the recent days many people are attracted towards self-employment instead of working for a company or organisation.Overall, the case behind it may be the way they want their lives to be but there are some disadvantage to it.
Self-employment has being growing rapidly these days becuase they are influcenced by social media where they have been showed how people are earning money just staying at home with no stress about company or organisation. For example even me i want to self-employed then working for company the reason behind it is that if we have a way to earn money without working for others then why not give it a try. There are many people who earn this way and change their lives completly. They show differnet kinds of lifestlye with cars, money, travelling etc which attract people a lot. These might be the reason people choose it over companies or organisation.
Alothough there are good way to earn by being self-employed there a major drawbacks too. These jobs don't always be 100% profitable or have stable income as compared to companies where the clients or staff earn a stable income. Not all people are fitted to be self-employed. For example if i am just self employed there's no chance that i would earn a lot, sometimes i could earn alot and sometimes there would be zero earning even the people we watch in social media work in a company or a organisation they just don't show it . They just demonstrate the part where they earned a significant amount of money being self-employed.
In conclusion, choosing self-employment could be a wonderful source of income if combined with a company work or organisation. So it's essential people know to disadvantages of not focusing on other things rather then just dependent upon them self.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the rise in self-employment and the potential disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding social media influence is relevant but relies on personal anecdotes ('For example even me i want to self-employed') rather than broader societal analysis. The discussion on disadvantages is clear but lacks depth, focusing primarily on income instability. To reach a higher band, you should expand your arguments with more objective reasoning and avoid using first-person narratives, as this is an academic task that requires a more formal, detached tone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices, such as 'For example', 'Although', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is repetitive. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'dependent upon them self', which lacks a clear antecedent. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the lack of sophisticated transitions between paragraphs limits the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'the case behind it may be the way they want their lives to be' and 'not all people are fitted to be self-employed'. Spelling errors, such as 'becuase', 'influcenced', 'differnet', and 'lifestlye', are present throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited variety of vocabulary and the recurring spelling mistakes prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'Self-employment has being growing', 'These jobs don't always be 100% profitable', and 'they just don't show it . They just demonstrate'. Subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency are areas that require significant improvement. While the meaning is usually conveyed, the frequency of errors in basic sentence construction is a notable weakness that affects the overall quality of the writing.
