Student answer (Band 5.0)
At present most of the people choose to be self-employed, rather than to work for company or organization, because many of them think that self-employment is better than being an employ for some company or organization.
this cases are increasing day by day due to the rules and regulations implemented by those job sectors people has to lock them self under those rule to work in those companies , they can't take holidays without permission even after asking permission they won't get leave which most of the people don't like, as one of my friend is working in a company and he wanted a leave for some emergency but the company didn't give him permission and he was very upset that's why people people think self-employment is best.
Apart from this there are many disadvantages of self-employment people has to face many problems related to startups and they have to take many types of risks to manage their startups they won't get proper deals they have to manage and face many types of people who have different mindsets and different point of views and people have to bare the losses and manage assets.
after all this I'll prefer the employment is better than self-employment because we don't have to take any type of risk and every month we'll get payoffs all we have to do is to maintain the policies of the company and should be in discipline.
In conclusion both of the employment and self-employment have there own advantages and disadvantages

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for choosing self-employment and the disadvantages involved. However, the development is quite limited. The reasons provided, such as rigid rules and lack of leave, are relevant but lack depth. The disadvantages are mentioned in a list-like fashion without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. The conclusion introduces a personal preference that was not clearly established as the main position throughout the essay, which affects the overall clarity of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure your position is consistent and clearly stated in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas; sentences are often strung together with commas or run-on structures, such as in the second paragraph. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the use of linking words is minimal. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on simple terms like 'people', 'things', and 'many types of'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'payoffs' instead of 'salary' or 'wages', and 'bare the losses' instead of 'bear the losses'. The range is limited, and the essay does not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items effectively. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and business, and pay closer attention to correct word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, including run-on sentences and comma splices (e.g., 'this cases are increasing day by day due to the rules...'). Punctuation is largely absent or incorrect, and there are errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you must focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice using complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences correctly.
