Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 168 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While the prompt asks for reasons for self-employment and its disadvantages, the essay is incomplete, stopping abruptly after the first body paragraph. The ideas presented, such as the desire for autonomy and potential for higher earnings, are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The introduction is also somewhat confused, as it suggests a discussion of both perspectives (self-employment vs. industrial work) rather than focusing on the specific questions asked in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure due to its incomplete nature. Paragraphing is attempted but is not fully realised, as the text ends mid-sentence. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and often mechanical way, such as 'to begin with' and 'however'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences are often fragmented or lack logical connection. The lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending significantly hinder the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'proponets', 'belive', 'carrer', 'deabate', 'perscpectives', 'opnion', 'paragaphs', 'pepole', 'free lacncer', 'accountend', and 'essitan'. These errors, combined with awkward phrasing like 'industrial work' and 'your on empire', make the text difficult to read. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of words frequently impedes communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and subject-verb agreement. For example, 'the issue has sparked considerable deabate in the today world' and 'one of the most significant cause is pepole choose remote work'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often run-on or grammatically incorrect. Punctuation is largely ignored, with missing capital letters and incorrect spacing throughout the text, which significantly affects the clarity of the writing.
