Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people believe self-employe is more benificial compared to work in a company or in an organisation.

A large amount of people prefers to spend their life independent as the technology increase more facilities are also available and human preferences are also changes.

Personally i want to work as a self employed rather than to work as the under of any one else. Here i give both reasons to support my point of view about why self work is important and how looks like to work in a company.

In my opinion if a person is in the under of any one he have to face many difficulties like in free time he want to take some rest, take a cup of tea, or may be he has a plan for outing firstly he must should have the permite of the company boss to fulfill his wishes. So request for these small things again and again may be put bad effact on the boss and he will be on the notice all the time.

In addition on the weekend he have several plans like outing with his friends or family but suddenly on the ring of his boss all the plans were canceled so this also cause of frustration of that employ.

On the other hand a self employed can not face such issues he himself a boss and wants to do only on his wish, don't requiere the permission of else.

To sum up an independent person have many benefits to enjoy his life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for choosing self-employment and the disadvantages. However, the development is quite limited. The arguments regarding the 'boss' and 'weekend plans' are repetitive and lack depth. Furthermore, the second part of the prompt—the disadvantages of being self-employed—is almost entirely ignored, with only a brief mention that they 'can not face such issues.' To improve, you must provide a balanced discussion that explores the risks of self-employment, such as financial instability or lack of benefits, rather than focusing solely on the benefits of autonomy.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'On the other hand,' they are often used to connect poorly developed ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences feels disjointed. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that supports the overall argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'self-employe' instead of 'self-employed,' 'under of any one' instead of 'under someone else,' and 'permite' instead of 'permission.' These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. To improve, you should focus on learning common collocations related to work and business and pay closer attention to word forms. Using more precise terminology would help convey your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'human preferences are also changes'), incorrect verb tenses, and sentence structure (e.g., 'he must should have'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, you need to work on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of modal verbs. Proofreading for common errors like these will significantly improve your score.
