Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the task by identifying reasons for self-employment, such as flexible time and higher earnings, and discussing disadvantages, notably the risk of a future lack of skilled workforce. A position is presented, but the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the points regarding flexible time and lack of skilled workers are restated multiple times across paragraphs without substantial expansion or deeper analysis. Furthermore, the reasoning that self-employment causes a shortage of skilled labor in the economy is somewhat unclear and under-developed. Relevant examples are included, such as the personal anecdote about the writer's father, which supports the motivation for self-employment. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed albeit with limited extension and some repetition, the response meets the criteria for Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is frequently disrupted by mechanical and repetitive use of cohesive devices, particularly 'Therefore' and 'Because' or 'Becuse', which are misused and overused throughout the text. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and sentences often lack smooth transitions. For example, the sentence 'The problems arise due to because people are engage on 8 to 7 hours per day...' creates confusion and breaks the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty due to frequent grammatical errors and repetitive phrasing, resulting in a score of 4.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent misspellings and inaccurate word forms, such as 'opean', 'thye', 'workfore', 'manpower', and 'perefer'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'contemporary world', 'detrimental', and 'living standard', these are offset by persistent errors in word choice and morphology (e.g., 'flexible time period', 'engage on'). The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying simple ideas, but noticeable errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent and severe errors in tense consistency, subject-verb agreement, and basic sentence construction (e.g., 'because my father resign this post becuse they did not manage time', 'it may creates many problems', 'many people opean own enterprise it can create'). Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and comma splices. These frequent grammatical errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from reaching a higher band, placing it securely at Band 4.5.
