Student answer (Band 5.0)
In these days most of the people want to be self employed, rather than to be employed for company or a institution.I am going to discuse both reasons and disadvantages in pragraphs.
Now day many people do their own work rather than doing for specifice organisation, because there are many strict rules and regulation by these companies and also they have a specific times to attend but now the advance genration did not want to follow the old school rules they need free will to do their work.in result they face many dificulties one of them is, company have a proper system to perform the task but most of the people do not have these facilities.
similarly a group of people think that the salary given by the company is not enough so that why they do their own work to genrate a good income. further the disadvantage is that the facilities given by the company like bouns, insurance and acamodation is include in salary but a self employed always buy these remitance by own.also some time if they dont have work they could not genrate income but in any organisation they pay full salary rather you are free or doing work. But also they dont have any pressure to join meeting
To conclude, both reasons and disadvantages are discused in it.but i think both have some benifits and some disadvantages

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the reasons for self-employment and its disadvantages, fulfilling the core requirements of the task. However, the ideas remain limited and under-developed, lacking sufficient explanation or specific examples to flesh out the arguments. Furthermore, the response falls short of the minimum word count requirement, coming in at only 227 words. To reach a higher band, the writer needs to fully extend their ideas with relevant supporting details and ensure the essay meets the necessary length.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident in the essay, as the writer attempts to divide the reasons and disadvantages into paragraphs. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the transitions between ideas feel abrupt and disjointed, such as moving from company rules directly to a lack of facilities. Cohesive devices are generally inadequate and repetitive, and basic transitional phrases like 'similarly' and 'to conclude' are used without proper logical linkage. Paragraphing is also problematic, with a rushed structure that impairs the overall flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer relies on basic words and repeats terms frequently, such as 'company', 'work', and 'genrate'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, including 'discuse', 'pragraphs', 'specifice', 'genration', 'dificulties', 'bouns', 'acamodation', and 'remitance'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the student needs to build a broader range of vocabulary and check spellings carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence boundary control. There are persistent issues with run-on sentences, comma splices, and missing punctuation, as seen in 'In these days most of the people want to be self employed, rather than to be employed for company or a institution.' Attempts at complex sentences often result in faulty structures and awkward phrasing. Errors involving articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement occur frequently throughout the text and can cause difficulty for the reader.
