Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main parts of the prompt by discussing reasons for choosing self-employment, such as freedom and the desire for higher earnings, and outlines a disadvantage regarding a potential lack of employees. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For example, the reasons are stated broadly without deep elaboration, and the disadvantage focuses on a rather unusual societal macro-effect rather than personal or economic drawbacks like financial instability or lack of benefits. The position is generally clear, but the overall treatment is basic, placing the response squarely in the mid-range for task fulfillment.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organisation present, with the text broken down into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing the prompt's questions, and a brief conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression due to mechanical and repetitive use of cohesive devices, such as starting multiple clauses with 'is the prominent reason' or 'might be another factor'. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences often run together with faulty punctuation, such as comma splices ('...organisation,Nowadays.why is this happening...'). Referencing is also occasionally unclear, which disrupts the logical flow of ideas from one sentence to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for discussing the topic of employment. There are frequent noticeable spelling and word-choice errors that stem from attempts at less common lexis, such as 'nummerous', 'enterprenure', 'Indibutabily', 'opining', 'bussiness', 'epmloyee', and 'enterpruener'. While the meaning can generally be deciphered despite these lexical slips, the heavy presence of errors across word forms, spelling, and collocations restricts the lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on long, convoluted sentences that string multiple clauses together incorrectly. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to grammar issues such as subject-verb agreement errors ('it give and individual freedom', 'the became self employed'), missing articles, and incorrect prepositions. Frequent errors in punctuation and basic grammatical patterns are present throughout, which can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in tracing the exact meaning of the sentences.
