Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main parts of the prompt by discussing reasons for choosing self-employment, such as avoiding strict company policies and seeking freedom, as well as disadvantages like loneliness and lack of managerial support. However, the position is not always clearly maintained due to limited and under-developed ideas. For instance, points regarding salary and freedom are repetitive and lack detailed expansion or relevant personal examples, resulting in a somewhat partial treatment of the topic. To move further up, the ideas need to be extended with more specific explanations and fully supported illustrations rather than general assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization with paragraphs attempting to separate the main themes of reasons and disadvantages. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, and the flow of ideas feels disjointed. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inaccurately, such as the frequent misuse of transitional phrases like 'Also', 'While', and 'Therefore'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical links between sentences. Improving the logical sequencing and employing a wider range of appropriate cohesive ties would enhance the overall cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common expressions, but these are often marred by noticeable word-choice errors, incorrect collocations, and awkward phrasing, such as 'work freedomly', 'robotic rountine', and 'salary is a drug'. There are also frequent issues with word forms, such as using verbs instead of nouns or adjectives. These lexical inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the response from achieving a higher level of precision and natural control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex patterns. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the people who are introverts was choose'), incorrect verb tenses ('they goes in the depression'), missing or incorrect articles, and preposition errors. These persistent errors occur across both simple and attempted complex structures, often causing strain and difficulty for the reader in interpreting the intended meaning.
