Student answer (Band 4.5)
This days, individuals prefer to be self employed, rather than to work for a company or an organisation. This is because they want to remotely work from home without any work or organisation policy ruling them . from my prespective this is a postive decelopment in this esay i will pros and cons of this.
when an individual is self employed, it gives them the opportunity to multi task for example a student who is going to school ame running a business they can remotely control there business with the use of techonlogy as this is a postive site but when they are working for a company or any organisation you cannot have the freedom to achieve that. another practical example to this is that it will help you not to depending on one source of income you can handle two jobs and earn high profits but when you are working under an organisation or company the chances of having this opportunity is less. lets take for instance, a man who is a teacher can close from work and in the evening go to his shop and still sell and make profit more than a person working for someone because it cannot be possible as the work may not give you the time to do so.
secondly, being self employed gives one a high respect. when you are self employed you will not have any bad energy which is usually common in work place for example no competition with your fellow workers , no too much policy governong your actions. so when you are self employed you have the right to do what you want to do and also in your free time.
In conclusion being self employed is a postive impact as the advantage will always outweigh the disadavntage. self employed will give you the opportunity to multi task, being the boss of your own while avoiding the policy and conditions that comes from working under a company or an organisation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions by giving reasons for self-employment and mentioning possible drawbacks, and your position that it is positive is clear in the introduction and conclusion. The examples of a student running a business and a teacher selling goods after work help illustrate flexibility and multiple income sources. However, the disadvantages are not meaningfully explained: workplace competition and rules are presented as problems avoided, rather than explaining the risks of self-employment, such as unstable income or lack of benefits. The claim that self-employment brings “high respect” is also asserted without support. Develop both sides with relevant, specific explanations and ensure the disadvantages directly answer the question. The response meets the required length; 12 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas can generally be followed. Sequencing phrases such as “secondly” and “In conclusion” signal the structure, while examples are placed near the points they illustrate. However, progression is limited: the first body paragraph combines multitasking, technology, income and a teacher’s shop example, so its central point becomes diffuse. The second paragraph repeats the idea of freedom from workplace rules rather than developing a distinct disadvantage. Some linking is mechanical, and long sentences joined by “but” or “so” make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Give each paragraph one clear focus, use more precise referencing, and separate complex points into clearer sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “self-employed,” “source of income,” “profits,” “competition” and “policy.” These terms help communicate the general subject, but the range is basic and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as “positive site,” “bad energy” and “high respect.” Spelling errors—including “prespective,” “decelopment” and “disadavntage”—are noticeable and can make the reader pause. Some word combinations are also unnatural, for example “remotely control their business” and “multi task.” Build a more precise range for discussing autonomy and risk, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More accurate topic vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and extended sentences, including clauses with “when,” “because” and “as,” and the main message is usually understandable. However, control is uneven, especially in longer sentences. For example, “when an individual is self employed, it gives them” has an unclear subject, while “a student who is going to school ame running a business” does not form a clear grammatical clause. Agreement and verb forms also need attention in “the conditions that comes” and “you will not have any bad energy.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing, creating run-ons. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and punctuating clauses; shorter, controlled sentences will help you express the ideas more reliably.
