In this contemporary era, a part of generation prefer self-employement instead of work for other corporations. Some people choose to pursue their personal interest while some wants to work with freedom. Although, there can be some problems comes with the path of solo career like big responsiblities and lack of benefits. This essay will delve into the reasons behind youth choosing this career option alsong with its disadvantages.
In the first place, there might be several reasons of working professionals choose to working for themselves rather than work for compainies or organisations in with one of the major reason is independence. To elaborate that, an individual can have freedom to make any decisions like set schedules, and choose projects by itself rather then getting orders or instructions from its upper managements. For example, a freelance worker can work whenever or work remotely he wants and take desired projects from independent clients unlike restricted by office policies and its project deadlines.Along with it, many people get opportunity to follow their personal interest as a career. Hence, solo career is considered way more flexible and growth oriented for many professionals.
However, every positiverty comes with negativity. While streamlining the benifits we ccan not ignore the drawbacks of being your own boss. The first major issue comes its a huge responsiblity where an individual have to manage all aspects of their business like finances , marketing and other legal procedures to be able to work. Income can be unstable for a self-employer person at first. Moreover, they also lack other benefits like health insurance, paid leaves, etectra which can create insecurity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions: it explains the appeal of independence and pursuing personal interests, then identifies responsibility, unstable income and missing employment benefits as disadvantages. These are relevant points, and the freelance-work example helps illustrate flexibility. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the essay says self-employment is “growth oriented” without showing how it can lead to growth, and the disadvantages paragraph lists business duties and insecurity but gives little detail about their effects. The opening also refers to “youth,” although the prompt concerns people generally. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or a specific example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, and a paragraph on disadvantages. The progression from independence to personal interests, and then to practical risks, is easy to follow. Linking expressions such as “In the first place,” “For example,” and “Moreover” help signal the relationships between ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the final paragraph ends without a concluding sentence that draws the discussion together. A few references are also unclear, such as “by itself” and “its upper managements,” which make the reader pause over who or what is being referred to. Use more precise referencing and add a brief conclusion to strengthen the overall flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses a relevant range of vocabulary, including “independence,” “freelance worker,” “unstable,” and “health insurance,” and it attempts more specific expressions such as “office policies” and “legal procedures.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “self-employement,” “responsiblities,” “benifits,” “a self-employer person,” and “reasons of working professionals.” Some phrases, including “streamlining the benefits” and “every positiverty comes with negativity,” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Focus on accurate spelling and common collocations, and choose straightforward wording when unsure; this will make the ideas clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to use both simple and complex structures, including a contrast clause beginning “Although” and a relative clause in “a freelance worker can work whenever…”. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate. For example, “Some people choose… while some wants” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “reasons of working professionals choose to working” combines an incorrect pattern with an incorrect verb form. The opening “Although” clause is also left without a complete main clause. Review agreement, verb patterns such as “choose to work,” and sentence boundaries. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve control without sacrificing the range attempted.
