Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question and give a clear overall explanation: people value independence, flexibility and potential earnings, while self-employment can demand effort and money. The examples of running an online business from home and borrowing from banks help make the points relevant. However, some reasons are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, “there is no need to wait for the salary at the end of the month” does not clearly explain how self-employment provides income, and the claim that it improves work–life balance is not balanced against the long hours that starting a business may involve. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and distinguish potential benefits from outcomes that are not guaranteed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and signposts such as “To begin,” “Furthermore” and “However” help the reader follow the discussion. At times, though, linking is mechanical or repetitive: “For instance” appears twice in the same paragraph, and “Last but not least” introduces another benefit without showing how it relates to the preceding point. Some references are also unclear, particularly “by their” in the sentence about funds. Use fewer formulaic transitions, connect each example directly to its claim, and make references explicit to improve the flow between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range for the topic, including terms such as “entrepreneurship,” “flexibility,” “lucrative” and “conventional jobs.” These choices show an attempt to use more specific vocabulary, although some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “contributes to be a self-dependent person,” “endows flexibility of work” and “preferable time schedules.” Spelling errors, including “entepreneurship,” “suffucient,” “self-emplyed” and “profitabe,” also reduce accuracy. Choose common, natural collocations before reaching for more formal wording—for example, “offers greater flexibility” or “become financially independent”—and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “as” and “which,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, however, in sentence construction, verb forms and articles. For example, “It helps them to be independent, provides more flexibility and it is more convenient” has an uneven structure, while “it requires a huge amount of funds to begin a new business by their” is incomplete and unclear. Other examples include “the opportunity work from home” and “they can not able to return them.” Practise parallel structures and check that each sentence has a complete, correctly formed clause; also review articles and verb patterns when editing.
