Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both questions: it suggests that low pay and employers’ failure to cover transport or accommodation costs may encourage self-employment, and it identifies isolation, reduced opportunities to develop practical knowledge, and weaker communication as disadvantages. These are relevant points, but several are unclear or only briefly explained. For example, the claim that self-employed people lose practical knowledge is not supported with a clear explanation, and the example about “many natives” and study expenses is difficult to connect to the main reason. The conclusion repeats the low-pay point but does not clearly summarise the disadvantages. Develop each main idea with a clearer explanation or a specific, relevant example, and state the relationship between the reasons and consequences more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about reasons, a paragraph about disadvantages, and a conclusion. The use of “On the one hand,” “Furthermore,” and “On the other hand” helps signal the broad direction of the response. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, the opening paragraph combines isolation and opportunities to gain knowledge without showing how these ideas relate, while repeated phrases such as “due to this” do not always make the connection clear. References such as “that case” and “they” also leave the reader unsure which idea or people are meant. Organise each paragraph around one clear point, then explain it and use more precise linking and referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response attempts vocabulary relevant to employment, including “salary,” “transportation,” “accommodation,” “practical knowledge,” and “communication skills.” This shows some awareness of the topic, but the range is limited and many spelling and word-choice errors make the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “self employ,” “bib organisation,” “excessive knowledge,” and “friendship godown”; the intended meanings are not always clear. Some phrases also do not collocate naturally, such as “company pay less salary” and “loss to their practical knowledge.” Build a reliable set of employment-related expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer accurate, familiar vocabulary over ambitious words that do not express the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “due to this.” However, control of sentence structure is weak, and errors frequently make the message difficult to follow. For example, “most of the people depends” has subject–verb disagreement, while “One the main casuses that is most of company pay less salary” does not form a complete, well-structured sentence. Articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries are also often inaccurate, as in “choose be self employed” and “people loss to their practical knowledge.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Check agreement, articles, and verb forms in every sentence.
