Student answer (Band 6.0)
In contemporary society, it had been observed that many individuals are opting for self-employement rather than working in a company or organisation. There are several resons why self-employement is opted by many adults and there are also number of potential disadvantages also of being self-employed.
One of the primary reasons behind this is that individuals get flexibility and freedon for working. For instance, Freelancers can work anytime according to their leisure time and family commitments. They make their own schedules according to their preferences. Self-employed person can set their own rules and their own working hours based on their flexibility. Moreover, individuals can use modern technology tools which have shifted this trend by which individuals can work virtually from anywhere at anytime.
On the other hand, being self-employed has its own disadantages. One of the main disadavtage is the need of the funds to run an organization. To establish your own business, it requires a huge capital investment with olenty of time and energy. Entrepreneurship comes with many responsibilities because as a owner of the organization you have to schedule everything and you have to put an eye on the organization work and employees. Additionally, business owner needs to take financial risk also as there are chances of the fluctuation in the profit. Furthermore, freelancer needs to take risk as a result, they may get a low income or profit.
In conclusion, although freelancers have flexibility for working, I believe there are plenty of drawbacks because as a owner individuals have burden of finance also and you have to be prepare for every situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus: flexibility, control over working hours, and the ability to work remotely explain why people choose self-employment, while start-up costs, responsibilities, and uncertain income cover disadvantages. The examples about freelancers arranging work around family commitments and using technology are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the discussion of financial risk repeats the idea of fluctuating or low profit without showing how this affects a self-employed person, and the responsibilities point could be illustrated more specifically. Your conclusion gives a clear overall view, but it introduces a strong emphasis on drawbacks that could be more clearly balanced against the reasons discussed. Develop each main idea with a consequence or concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” and additions such as “Moreover” and “Additionally” help readers follow the main progression. This coherent structure is a strength. To make the organisation more fluent, reduce mechanical linking and improve connections between related points. In the disadvantages paragraph, the discussion moves from capital to responsibilities and then financial risk, but the relationship between these ideas is not always made explicit. Some references, such as “they” in the final sentence of that paragraph, could be clearer. Grouping the financial points together and using more precise referencing would strengthen cohesion further.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “flexibility,” “family commitments,” “capital investment,” “Entrepreneurship,” and “financial risk.” These choices allow you to discuss both benefits and drawbacks, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or repetitive word choices are noticeable, including “self-employement,” “freedon,” “disadantages,” and “plenty of time and energy.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “put an eye on the organization work” and “low income or profit.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. You could also vary repeated terms such as “individuals,” “organization,” and “risk” to make the vocabulary more flexible and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “as,” and most ideas remain understandable. Some sentence forms are controlled, such as “They make their own schedules according to their preferences.” However, errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “it had been observed” is an awkward tense choice for a general present-day trend, while “as a owner” and “business owner needs” show article and agreement problems. The final sentence, “you have to be prepare,” also has an incorrect verb form and shifts into direct address. Work on consistent subject choice, article use, and accurate verb patterns, while continuing to practise complex sentences.
