Student answer (Band 5.0)

These days the majority of individuals like to do work themselves instead of doing under company and organisation.there are many reasons behind this trend and it have lots of merits for people. In the upcoming paragraphs i will elaborate the reasons of it and why people choose to work by themselves.

To begin with,it helps them to show their talent.if they work under any company and organisation they never get a chance to show and repersented themselves. For instance, the number of people who work freely instaed of under somebody they get eaily sucess and achive their goals. As a result, they earn according to their work .

Moving further, this trend has verious disvantages for them firstly, lack of communication skills.work with company with team members it helps them to good bonds while communicate with them.moverover, face decision making problems, some time people face dificility to make decision regarding their work if they work in a team they may share with them and get good advice. In addation to this, may they naver get a chance to take benefits which is given by companies like bonus, health benefits and many more,as well as they never get a experience how to grow bussiness and how to deal with employees at work.

To conclude,to put it in a nut shell, wheather it has too many benefits and reasons behind work themselves, but the number of qualities and rules and regulations ,experience and many more skills which they only learn through companies and organisations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both questions: you suggest that self-employment lets people display their talents and earn according to their work, then identify drawbacks such as weaker communication, difficulty making decisions, and missing company benefits. However, the reasons are only briefly stated, and the example about people achieving success is general rather than specific or explained. The conclusion also does not clearly weigh up the points. The response is 10 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your ideas. To strengthen the answer, explain why independence or control attracts workers, and show how each disadvantage affects someone in practice, using a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about reasons, a paragraph about disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moving further,” and “To conclude” help signal these stages. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear. The disadvantages paragraph moves from communication to decision-making and benefits without fully connecting or developing these points, and “Moving further” does not clearly signal a contrast. Some linking expressions are repetitive or awkward, while punctuation and spacing make several sentences run together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each point to its explanation; for example, show how working alone can reduce opportunities to discuss decisions with colleagues.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “self-employed,” “decision making,” “health benefits,” and “employees.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the issues you want to discuss. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “repersented,” “instaed,” “sucess,” and “disvantages.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “do work themselves” and “earn according to their work.” Build a more precise set of expressions for independence, income, and workplace support, and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would make your ideas clearer without requiring overly advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if they work under any company” and a sentence beginning “if they work in a team.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “it have lots of merits” and “they never get a experience”; sentence boundaries are also unclear in places, particularly after the opening sentence and in the disadvantages paragraph. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and full stops before adding further complexity.
