Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is seen that many people today are preferring to do a business independently, instead of doing a job under a company or a coorporation. A major reason of this changing mindset can be the internet in which people are motivated to start their own business by showing them the dark truths of doing a job. Although, people working as enterpreneurs are excited to become successful, however, their chances of becoming successful are very low.
It is the nature of human that he consider himself best among all, not only this, he finds it very difficult to work under another human and act upon his advices and instructions. Nowadays, people have idealized such bloggers who motivate them to work independently by providing them different courses. Furthermore, these influencers develop a sense of hate among those individuals against jobs. Today, finding jobs are rather difficult and instead of trying to get it people are now becoming busy in hating the jobs and considering self-work. For instance, a famous blogger of America has a very large group of audience and he gives free courses on online work and trading and motivates the students to become indepedent businessman.
There are many flaws of working independently, for instance, people would not become self aware about the mistakes they made, moreover, they would not avail any opportunity as they would become very unsocial. Additionally, individuals would not know how to do team work, how to become a leader of a group and in fact, they would not learn how to become successful. For example, my cousin is self employed and he has a very unsocial behaviour, moreover, he find it very difficult to greet a guest even if we go to his house.
To conclude with, self employment is not a bad thing but it can lead to different peoblems related to person's behaviour and personality. To become a successful businessman, a person should get an experience of work as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions and maintains a relevant position: it links self-employment to online influencers, difficulty finding jobs, and a desire to avoid working under others, then identifies social isolation and limited teamwork as disadvantages. The examples of the blogger and your cousin help make these points concrete. However, the reasons are not equally developed. The claim that the internet shows people the “dark truths” of employment is vague, and the discussion of influencers repeats the idea of disliking jobs without explaining in detail why self-employment is attractive. The disadvantages also focus mainly on social skills; explaining practical risks such as unstable income or lack of employee benefits would make the response more complete and better supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure: the opening introduces the topic, the two body paragraphs cover reasons and disadvantages, and the conclusion gives a final view. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening uses “Although” and “however” together, while the third paragraph links several claims with “moreover” and “Additionally” without showing precisely how they relate. The shift from difficulty finding jobs to “hating the jobs” also needs a clearer explanation. Use fewer repeated linking expressions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting example explicit; this would create smoother progression and clearer referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “self-employed,” “independently,” “influencers,” “team work,” and “successful businessman.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an attempt to discuss the topic beyond basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a major reason of this changing mindset,” “idealized such bloggers,” and “self-work.” Spelling errors, including “coorporation,” “enterpreneurs,” and “indepedent,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For example, “a major reason for this shift” and “self-employment” would express your meaning more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple and complex sentence forms, such as the sentence beginning “Although people working as entrepreneurs…” and the example introduced by “For instance.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “he consider himself best” should be “he considers himself the best,” and “he find it very difficult” should be “he finds it very difficult.” The opening sentence also combines “Although” with “however,” creating an incorrect structure. Review subject–verb agreement and practise building complex sentences with one clear linking pattern. More consistently accurate sentences would strengthen the control shown in your varied structures.
