Student answer (Band 5.0)

It has been observed that, these days number of individuals choose to be self -employed, rather than to work for an organisation or enterprise. There are various reasons behind this situation. Likewise, humans avoid doing jobs at companies and prefer doing freelancing while sitting at home. I will explain its reasons and disadvantages in forthcoming paragraphs with suitable examples and end it up with plausible conclusion.

In the beginning, people wheather they are adolescense or teenagers, they prefer to do work at their homes. However, its specific reason is due to lack of jobs in state, whereas individuals decides to do work with all facilities at home. For instance, freelancing and many more websites that says "work from home" humans follow it and enroll there to be self-employed. While, thinking about staying at home with all comfortable facilities they can use.

On the contrary, there are numerous disadvantages regarding this statement. Simultaneously, if citizens will not do jobs physically they will be lack of skills. Such as, communication skills, team leading and managing the company. Furthermore, by not gaining all these skills they are not able to enroll in any enterprise in their future. Moreover, staying at home or being self-employed will make them lazy which can lead their future to be in danger.

In conclusion, although there are certain drawbacks associated with this statement that being self-employed will lead humans to destroy their own future, I firmly believe that self-employment is better for teens rather than adults. Adolescence should work in company enviornment. Ultimately, most effective way is to join organisations for better work experience, while ensuring that habitants will gain some skills by doing job physically which is taken into account.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you suggest that limited job availability and the convenience of working at home encourage self-employment, and you identify possible losses in communication, leadership and management skills. However, the reasons and disadvantages are only partly explained. For example, the claim that people choose this path because of a “lack of jobs in state” is not developed with a clear explanation or a specific example, and the link between working independently and becoming “lazy” is asserted rather than supported. Your conclusion also introduces a mixed position: it says self-employment is better for teens, then recommends joining organisations for work experience. Clarify your overall view and develop each main point with a cause, consequence or relevant example. (The response meets the length requirement; 10 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two parts of the task. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some linking expressions are mechanical or do not show a clear relationship. For instance, “Likewise” does not introduce a parallel point, while “On the contrary” suggests a contrast that is not clearly established. The sentence beginning “While, thinking about staying at home” is left as an incomplete thought, interrupting the paragraph’s flow. The conclusion also shifts between supporting self-employment and recommending company work. Use fewer, more precise transitions and organise each paragraph around one clearly explained idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “self-employed,” “freelancing,” “communication skills,” and “work experience.” These choices make the subject clear, but the range is limited by repetition of general terms such as “work,” “people,” and “skills,” and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural. For example, “lack of jobs in state,” “enroll there,” and “destroy their own future” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “company environment” is also more suitable than “company enviornment” (with the spelling corrected). Some word choices make the argument harder to follow. Build a more precise vocabulary for employment, such as job scarcity, flexible working, income stability and professional development, and check collocations and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “which,” and “although.” However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “individuals decides,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “they will be lack of skills,” which has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening sentence also has an awkward clause structure, while “While, thinking about staying at home…” is not a complete sentence. Review subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and how to form complete clauses. Aim for accurate, shorter sentences first, then add subordinate clauses where you can control them.
