Student answer (Band 4.5)

In the recent years, most of the people prefer to choose their own job, rather than to work for company or organisation. Although, this trend offers several benefits, it also has some drawbacks. this eassy will discuss both the advantages and disdvantages of this development.

There are several advatages of self-employed. Fristly, One of the main benefits is that many people like to establish their own business because they do not like to follow other person rules. Moreover, some individuals think that if they organize their business they will not need to find a job. secondly, if the individuals establish their business they will not wait for salary until yhe end of the month. However, they do not need to follow the other persons order. For example, it is very beneficial for these types of people who do not like to follow the other person rules. Although, they also earn a good profit daily.

On the other hand, there are also some disadvantages associated with work for a company or organisation. One major drawback is that they will not face any stress about company such as profit or loss and the workers complete their work on time. However, they go to office without any stress and complete their work. Secondly, if the person earn a good salary until the end of the month, they will save their money easily. they also fulfil their dreams. For example, they do not face difficulties and complete theor task effectively.

In conclusion, although, self-employed provides severl benefits, it also has certain drawbacks. In my opinion, both advantages and disadvantages should carefully considered.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a limited attempt to address both questions: it gives reasons such as wanting independence from a manager’s rules and avoiding a conventional monthly salary, and it mentions possible benefits of regular employment. However, the disadvantages of self-employment are not clearly explained. The paragraph beginning “On the other hand” mainly describes advantages of working for a company, rather than identifying risks of working for oneself, such as uncertain income or responsibility for business costs. Several points are repeated, and examples such as “they also earn a good profit daily” are asserted without support. The conclusion restates that there are benefits and drawbacks but does not clarify the main ideas. Develop relevant reasons and directly explain the disadvantages asked about.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify a general contrast between self-employment and company work. However, ideas are not arranged coherently within the paragraphs: the second body paragraph is introduced as discussing disadvantages but then focuses on the security and benefits of employment. Several points repeat, including not following another person’s rules, and connectors such as “However,” “Although,” and “Secondly” do not always show the relationship between ideas accurately. References such as “they” and “these types of people” are also unclear at times. To improve, give each paragraph one clear purpose, order its points logically, and use linking expressions only when their meaning fits.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on “people,” “business,” “benefits,” and “disadvantages.” Some phrases communicate the general topic, including “establish their own business” and “profit or loss,” but several choices are inaccurate or awkward, such as “follow other person rules,” “earn a good profit daily,” and “complete their work on time” when discussing self-employment. Spelling errors—including “advatages,” “Fristly,” “eassy,” and “severl”—also reduce control. These limitations sometimes make the intended point difficult to interpret, particularly in the paragraph about drawbacks. Build a more precise range for discussing independence, income uncertainty, workload and financial responsibility, and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some complex sentences, for example, “Although this trend offers several benefits, it also has some drawbacks,” but control is inconsistent and the range remains limited. Errors occur in sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “this eassy will discuss,” and in articles and possessives, as in “work for company” and “other person rules.” Subject–verb agreement is also faulty in “if the person earn,” while “both advantages and disadvantages should carefully considered” is missing a necessary verb form. Several sentences begin with lowercase letters, and commas are often placed incorrectly after “Although.” These errors do not prevent the overall topic from being understood, but they make parts difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles and verb forms.
