Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response makes a relevant attempt to explain why people may choose self-employment, mentioning the possibility that a business “will grow more” and contrasting this with low wages and few benefits in small companies. However, the task is only minimally addressed: the reasons are unclear and unsupported, and the disadvantages of self-employment are not explained at all. The opening also gives a firm preference for starting a business, but does not develop an answer to both questions. The response does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough material to present and support the necessary ideas. To improve, answer each question directly, explain each point, and add a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening statement is followed by a paragraph beginning “The first case,” which appears to introduce a reason. Linking expressions such as “Similarly” and “Now a days” also show an effort to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the relationship between retirement benefits, business growth, and low wages is not made clear. The final sentence breaks off at “that why the,” leaving the paragraph incomplete, and there is no separate discussion of disadvantages. Use a clear paragraph for each part of the question and connect each claim to its explanation so the reader can follow the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “self-employed,” “business,” “perks,” “insurance,” and “wages.” These terms show an attempt to discuss employment conditions, but the range is narrow and several choices or forms are inaccurate, which makes parts of the meaning unclear. For example, “start your own business” does not match the plural subject “individuals,” while “it will grow more” is vague and does not specify what is expected to grow. There are also spelling errors such as “belive,” “retirment,” “benifits,” and “comapnies.” Build a more precise range for discussing income, job security, benefits, and business risks, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “I believe starting your own business is…” and a sentence beginning “Now a days small companies…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in basic sentence construction and agreement sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “Many of the individual select” has a plural agreement problem, and “rather than working for company” is missing an article. The clause “that why the” is incomplete, while “after retirment what benifits and perks company give” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, articles, and clause formation before adding more complex structures.
