Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You report the visitor totals accurately and include all satisfaction categories for both years, so the key figures are mostly represented. However, the satisfaction figures for the first year are mislabelled: the chart shows 30% satisfied and 10% very dissatisfied, but your response reverses these. The response also lacks a clear overview of the main changes, such as the rise in visitor numbers and the shift from mostly dissatisfied responses to mostly satisfied ones. The required minimum of 150 words is not met; the response contains 126 words, with 13 prompt-copied words excluded. These omissions and the data error leave the task only minimally addressed. Add an overview and compare the main trends before listing details.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear basic arrangement: an introduction is followed by a paragraph about visitor numbers and separate paragraphs for each pie chart. This makes the information easy to locate, and phrases such as “In the first pie chart” and “In the second pie chart” guide the reader through the periods. However, the progression is largely a sequence of descriptions rather than a connected comparison. The repeated openings and lack of linking language between the two years make the account somewhat mechanical, while the absence of an overview means the main message is not foregrounded. To improve, group related figures across years—for example, compare the satisfied proportions together—and use a concise overview to establish the overall pattern.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the chart content, including “visitors,” “refurbishment,” “very satisfied” and “dissatisfied.” The wording is generally understandable, but the range is limited and some choices are inaccurate or awkward. “The table chart” is not a natural description of the visual, and “didn’t response” uses the wrong word form. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “informatiion,” “totall,” “muesum” and “responce,” which reduce the accuracy of the presentation. Use standard chart language such as “table” and “pie charts,” and check spelling and collocations carefully. More varied comparison vocabulary, such as “increased,” “fell” and “by contrast,” would help express the trends precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of your sentences are simple and the reader can generally understand the intended information, but grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening says “The two pie charts gives,” where the plural subject requires “give.” The sentence “the visitors were 74,000” is an awkward construction; write, for example, “the total was 74,000.” In “15% visitors,” an article or a clearer structure is needed, such as “15% of visitors.” The final phrase “didn’t response” also contains a grammatical word-form error; use “did not respond.” Sentence patterns are repetitive, with little use of accurate complex structures. Practise combining comparisons with clauses such as “while” or “whereas,” while checking agreement, articles and verb forms.
