Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main increase in visitors, from 74,000 to 92,000, and report several important satisfaction changes, including the rise in very satisfied responses and the fall in very dissatisfied responses. However, one key comparison is inaccurate: dissatisfaction did not remain steady at 40%; the dissatisfied share fell from 40% to 15%. The overview also makes an unsupported claim that refurbishment caused people to change their opinions, and the final reference to foreign exchange is not shown by the charts. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the overall shift toward satisfaction, then report the main figures accurately and avoid claims about causes or effects that the data cannot establish.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable sequence: an introduction, details about visitor numbers and satisfaction, and a concluding statement. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and phrases such as “First of all” and “However” signal movement between points. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the second paragraph combines several comparisons, while the third repeats the idea that satisfaction improved and includes a difficult-to-follow sequence of figures. Some linking words do not express the relationship accurately, and the conclusion introduces an unrelated point. Organise the body into a clear comparison of visitor totals and a separate comparison of satisfaction categories, using explicit references such as “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt relevant topic vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfaction level,” “dissatisfaction,” and “increased,” so the reader can generally identify the subject. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions such as “certain areas,” “countings of tourists,” and “very satisfation level.” Several spelling and word-form errors, including “signifantly,” “dissatifation,” and “position,” make the writing less precise; “foreign exchange” is also inappropriate to the information presented. Choose standard chart-reporting language and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe “the number of visitors” and say that satisfaction “rose,” rather than using awkward or unclear phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, such as “Albeit the dissatisfaction of people remained steady at 40%” and “not only that the satisfaction level…also increased.” However, these complex attempts are often faulty, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “Data is showing through percentage and numbers both” has an awkward verb pattern and word order. There are also inconsistent sentence boundaries, including the lower-case “no response” after a full stop. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example: “The dissatisfied share fell from 40% to 15% after refurbishment.”
