Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify relevant overall changes: visitor satisfaction improved after refurbishment, dissatisfaction fell, and “no response” stayed the same. Several figures are also reported accurately, including dissatisfaction falling from 40 to 15 and satisfaction rising from 30 to 40. However, the response is incomplete: it ends mid-sentence (“on the other hand satisfied visitor represented the”), and it does not clearly report the total visitor numbers, which rose from 74,000 to 92,000. The opening also calls the visuals pie charts, although one is a table. The response is 13 words below the required minimum, which contributes to the limited coverage. To develop the summary, finish the comparison and include the visitor totals and the main changes in all satisfaction categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and a paragraph of figures, and phrases such as “In contrast” and “on the other hand” show an effort to connect comparisons. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are repeated, especially that “no response” remained the same and that satisfaction increased. Connectors are often used inaccurately or in fragments: “while” and “Whereas” begin clauses that are not properly joined to the preceding ideas. The final sentence is unfinished, leaving the comparison incomplete. Use one clear overview, then group the figures into a logical before-and-after comparison, with complete sentences and fewer repeated linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-relevant vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “accounted,” “dominated,” and “satisfied,” so the reader can identify the general subject and trends. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning awkward: “the refurbished” does not express the period clearly, and “accounted the largest share” needs a more natural collocation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “illustrastes” and “acconted.” Repeated use of “satisfied” and “visitor” limits precision, while “increase gradually” is not an appropriate description of a change between two survey results. Practise accurate chart language such as “the proportion of visitors who were…” and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer comparative sentences, but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles or punctuation. For example, “the year before refurbishment number of satisfied and dissatisfied visitor both accounted more than half” lacks a clear grammatical structure and has agreement problems. The fragment “while, very satisfied and very dissatisfied accounted the lowest” is not joined correctly, and “no response remain same in both year” has errors in verb form and number. The final clause is incomplete, so the reader cannot follow the intended comparison. Build accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with “whereas” or “while” only when both clauses are complete; check articles, plural forms and verb agreement.
