Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction results, and the figures you report are generally accurate: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%. Your overview also identifies an overall improvement in satisfaction. However, some comparisons are less clearly expressed, particularly the final statement, “The year after refurbishment also the highest value of the proportion,” which does not specify which category is highest. The overview could be more precise by highlighting that satisfied or very satisfied responses became the majority after refurbishment, while the no-response share stayed at 5%. This would make the main trends clearer and ensure the key features are fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: it begins with an introduction and overview, then reports the visitor totals and survey categories in time order. This makes the information broadly easy to follow. Some linking is effective, such as “followed by” and “While,” but transitions are sometimes mechanical or attached to incomplete thoughts. For example, “In the satisfaction of year before refurbishment” is followed by a fragment, and the shift to the after-refurbishment results could be signposted more smoothly. The final sentence is also unclear and does not provide a useful conclusion. Grouping the satisfaction figures into positive and negative responses, with clear comparisons between the two years, would improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “proportion,” and “remained unchanged,” and you attempt to describe change with phrases such as “rose up” and “dropped.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. For instance, “the level of surveys visitors satisfied” is not a natural way to describe survey results, and “increases in 18000” is awkward. There are also spelling errors in “musuem” and “proprotion.” Aim for precise reporting language and check spelling and word forms. A wider set of accurate verbs for increases and decreases would help you express the comparisons more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the main figures can usually be understood. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical patterns are noticeable. For example, “the total number of visitors museum after refurbishment” is missing necessary grammatical elements, while “after refurbishment rose up in 92,000” has an incomplete subject and an incorrect preposition. The sentence beginning “In the satisfaction of year before refurbishment” is also not a complete grammatical construction, and “the proportion refurbishment no response remained unchanged the 5%” has unclear relationships between its parts. Practise complete clauses, articles, and accurate verb patterns, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries so that comparisons are expressed clearly.
