Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have identified the main features of the data, such as the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, the report lacks precision. For example, you mention 'seventeen thousands' and '10 percent more people were dissatisfied', but the data provided in the prompt is not explicitly detailed in your text to support these specific figures effectively. You should focus on reporting the actual data points (e.g., 74,000 vs 91,000) rather than generalising. Additionally, the description of the 'very dissatisfied' category is slightly confusing, as you state it increased while also noting a general improvement in satisfaction. Ensure your overview clearly synthesises the trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'Meanwhile', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is occasionally hindered by unclear referencing. For instance, the phrase 'no response people remained same' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the flow. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that cohesive devices are used to connect ideas more naturally rather than just acting as sentence starters.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'renovation', 'refurbishment', and 'satisfactory levels'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'drew a huge numbers of people' and 'no response people'. The use of 'seventeen thousands' is also non-standard. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations (e.g., 'a significant rise in visitor numbers' rather than 'drew a huge numbers') and ensure that you use terminology accurately in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'the pie charts projecting' (should be 'the pie charts project'), 'the Ashdown museum's was a great success' (incorrect possessive usage), and 'more 17 thousands people more'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While your meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and correct pluralisation.
