Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers the main features of the data, including the shift in visitor satisfaction levels before and after the refurbishment. However, the report is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While the key trends are identified, the description of the data is occasionally imprecise, such as the phrase 'very satisfied visitors ratio was 15%'. The response would benefit from a more cohesive summary that synthesizes the data rather than listing figures sequentially. The comparison between the two periods is present but could be more effectively integrated to highlight the significant improvement in visitor sentiment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of the report. However, the use of cohesive devices is often awkward or unnatural, such as 'At the fleeting glance' and 'Moving ahead'. These transitions feel forced rather than serving to connect ideas fluidly. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the internal structure of sentences occasionally lacks the necessary flow to link the data points effectively. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks precision. Phrases like 'at least ratio' and 'had double to very satisfied' are awkward and impede the clarity of the report. There is an attempt to use descriptive language, but the word choices are often inaccurate or non-standard. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise terminology for describing trends, such as 'proportion', 'significant increase', or 'marked decline', and avoid relying on informal or grammatically incorrect phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('The visitors was', 'surveys asks') and incorrect sentence structure. Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary commas and capitalization errors throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction limits the range of structures used. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, consistent tense usage, and standard punctuation rules, as these are essential for clear communication in an academic context.
