Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the content is incomplete; it fails to provide a comprehensive summary of the data provided in the table and charts. While there is an attempt to identify a main feature regarding visitor numbers and satisfaction, the analysis is superficial and lacks the necessary detail and comparison required for an Academic Task 1 response. The writing stops abruptly, leaving the data largely unaddressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is very short, making it difficult to assess the use of cohesive devices or paragraphing effectively. There is a basic attempt at an introduction and a summary, but the logical flow is disrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. The sentences are disjointed, and there is a lack of clear progression between the ideas presented. The use of linking words is minimal, which prevents the development of a coherent argument or report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and form, such as 'reconditioned' instead of 'refurbished', 'contented' instead of 'satisfaction', and 'reconstruct' instead of 'reconstruction'. These errors, combined with the repetitive use of basic terms, indicate a restricted range of vocabulary. The student struggles to use precise terminology to describe the data, which hinders the clarity of the report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'the year earlier and the year next it was reconditioned' and '40% of tourist were dissatisfied before the place was reconstruct to after making it got 15% of them'. The sentence structures are simple and often contain errors in tense, word order, and pluralization. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are poorly constructed.
