Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While you have identified the main features—the increase in visitor numbers and the shifts in satisfaction levels—the analysis is underdeveloped. You have not provided a comprehensive overview or fully integrated the data from the table and charts. To improve, ensure you cover all parts of the prompt, including a clear summary of the trends, and provide sufficient detail to meet the length requirement. The current response is too brief to adequately address the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is organized into three short paragraphs, which is a start, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and somewhat mechanical (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Then', 'After that'). The transitions between the table data and the chart data are abrupt, making the text feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus and that the relationship between the different pieces of information is explicitly stated for the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple descriptors like 'big change' or 'minor difference'. There are also several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'satisfiction' instead of 'satisfaction' and 'ninty tow' instead of 'ninety-two'. The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'the very satisfied area only 15%'. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to data reporting, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'significant increase', or 'dramatic shift', and ensure accurate spelling throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The image describe', 'the museum are furnished') and incorrect sentence structures ('the before refurbishment year the total number of tourist is...'). The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you need to work on basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement. Incorporating more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or comparative structures, would also help demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
