Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the table and charts, including the increase in visitor numbers and the shift in satisfaction levels. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, you mention the museum was 'demolished' instead of 'refurbished', which is a significant misinterpretation of the prompt. Additionally, the description of the satisfaction data is somewhat fragmented. To improve, ensure you accurately interpret the task prompt and provide a more cohesive summary of the data trends rather than listing figures in isolation. The overview is present but could be more clearly integrated to highlight the most significant changes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'The think was noticed that' or 'Whereas, the majority of people'. These transitions do not always flow naturally. While there is a clear attempt at paragraphing, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak due to awkward phrasing and limited linking words. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') to connect ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors ('yaer', 'sarisfied', 'incresed', 'notied') and word choice issues. The phrase 'The think was noticed' is non-standard and hinders clarity. You have attempted to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'refurbishment' and 'proportion', which is good, but the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations to describe data trends, such as 'a significant rise' or 'a notable shift in sentiment'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'total 74,000 tourists visit' (tense error), 'rose dramatically at 92,000' (preposition error), and 'most people satisfied' (missing verb). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentences have a clear structure with a subject, verb, and object. Proofreading for basic tense consistency will also help increase your score.
