Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the task requirements by summarizing the table and pie charts related to visitor numbers and satisfaction before and after refurbishment. However, there are some inaccuracies in statements, such as using 'modernized museum' instead of 'upgraded version,' and the phrase 'number was quietly lower' lacks clarity. There is a clear structure, but more emphasis on comparisons could enhance the response. Overall, the task is generally achieved but lacks precision in conveying certain details.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The overall coherence of the response is maintained through a logical structure, as it touches on how visitor numbers changed and how satisfaction levels shifted. The use of transition phrases like "To begin with" and "Moreover" helps to organize thoughts. However, some sentences could be clearer. For example, 'the proportion of satisfied people after renew of museum is 40%' could be better phrased for clarity. A few sentences feel convoluted, which can disrupt the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The variety of vocabulary is somewhat limited, with phrases such as 'felt dissatisfaction' and 'recorded that 40%' being quite basic. The use of terms like 'dissatisfaction percentage' is somewhat awkward; more academic phrasing could enhance the achievement here. More cohesive devices could be introduced for better clarity. Phrasing like "individuals who is very satisfied" showcases grammatical errors affecting the lexical resource score; proper subject-verb agreement is necessary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

Grammatical range and accuracy have some notable issues. Errors such as "individuals, who is very satisfied" (should be 'who are very satisfied') detract from the overall clarity. Additionally, phrases like "the number was quietly lower" may confuse readers. The response varies in sentence structure, but the frequent grammatical mistakes hinder the clarity of communication. Overall, some sentences are clear, yet errors are frequent enough to bring down the score somewhat.

Overall feedback

The response effectively summarizes the visitor statistics and satisfaction levels for the Ashdown Museum before and after refurbishment, indicating a clear understanding of the data presented. However, to enhance clarity and precision, focus on more accurate terminology and improve grammatical accuracy. Additionally, ensure comparisons between the two time periods are made more explicitly. Expanding your vocabulary will also assist in conveying ideas more effectively. Consider practicing clearer sentence structure and exploring synonyms to avoid repetition and enhance the sophistication of your language use.
