Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers the main features of the data, including the total visitor numbers and the shifts in satisfaction levels. You successfully identified the increase in visitor numbers from 74,000 to 92,000 and noted the shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction post-refurbishment. However, the report lacks precision in data presentation; for instance, you mention '75%' for satisfied/very satisfied combined, but the breakdown of the remaining categories is slightly inaccurate or vague. To reach a higher band, ensure that all figures are accurately transcribed from the charts and that comparisons are more explicitly linked to the specific data points provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, moving from an introduction to an overview and then into specific details. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'To begin with', and 'Furthermore' to signal transitions. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the table and the charts could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the overall logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the main points clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'refurbishment', 'renovation', and 'dissatisfied'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'survays' (surveys), 'maintanance' (maintenance), and 'disappointed' (which is not a category in the chart). To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling. Avoid using informal phrasing like 'the people came to the museum' and instead use more formal structures like 'the number of visitors to the museum'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'individuals who visits', 'visitors... is approximately'), incorrect preposition usage ('before and after of the refurbished periods'), and awkward phrasing ('persons who are with the no response'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic agreement and article usage to ensure your sentences are grammatically sound.
