Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response attempts to address the task by summarizing the visitor satisfaction data. However, the report is significantly hampered by inaccurate data interpretation. For example, you state that 40 visitors were dissatisfied in the initial year, but the chart shows 40% (not a raw number). Furthermore, the comparison between the two years is confusing due to the misuse of figures. To improve, you must clearly distinguish between percentages and raw numbers and ensure that the data points selected are accurate. The overview is also weak; it lacks a clear summary of the main trends, such as the overall increase in satisfaction levels after the refurbishment.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the flow of ideas is often disjointed due to the misuse of cohesive devices. Phrases like 'Moving further' and 'Nonetheless' are used, but they do not always logically connect the sentences. The referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the two years. To reach a higher band, focus on using transition signals that accurately reflect the relationship between ideas, such as 'in contrast' or 'similarly', and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'refurbishend' (refurbished), 'statisfied' (satisfied), 'indial' (initial), and 'Newithless' (Nevertheless). These errors, combined with awkward phrasing like 'is accounted by' or 'is accounted of', impede the clarity of the report. You rely on a very narrow range of words to describe the data. To improve, work on using more precise reporting verbs and nouns, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'experienced', or 'remained stable', and ensure you proofread your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammatical control is weak, with frequent errors that occasionally cause confusion. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'visitors who were give no respones is accounted of 5'. Additionally, sentence structures are often repetitive and lack complexity. Many sentences are grammatically incomplete or incorrectly constructed, such as 'the data, it can be clearly seen that, befor refurbishend the numburer of visitor who were very statisfied is 15'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of complex sentences with accurate punctuation.
